Bethesda Announces Skyrim 10th Anniversary Edition for November ‘21

It’s The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim’s 10th birthday this November, and Bethesda is pulling out all the stops to mark the occasion.

Earlier today, the developers announced a new 10th Anniversary Edition of the open-world RPG for Xbox Series X|S, PC, PS4, and PS5 via backward compatibility.

After Xbox’s acquisition of Bethesda, it is a bit of a surprise to see the Sony consoles included in the list of platforms for the edition, but hey, it’s highly doubtful that fans of the game on PS4|5 will complain.

Unveiled during Quakecon 2021’s Skyrim panel, the Anniversary edition will arrive on 11th November, ten years from the day the original version dropped.

The edition will contain the full game plus all three expansions – Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn – as well as all the enhancements found in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition.

In addition to all the original content, the anniversary edition will also feature over 500 Creation Club content pieces.

Creation Club is a collection of Bethesda’s officially sanctioned mods which one would otherwise have to purchase with in-game credits. These pieces will include quests, dungeons, bosses, weapons, spells, and more.

Players who already own Skyrim’s Special Edition will be able to upgrade to the Anniversary Edition.

There’s also a free Special/Anniversary Edition next-gen update on the way for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. However, Bethesda has not revealed the prices for any of these upgrades yet.

Notably, the celebrations for Skyrim’s 10th anniversary don’t end here.

Bethesda will hold a special concert at Alexandra Palace Theatre on 11th November where The London Symphony Orchestra and London Voices Choir will perform music from the game’s original score.

The show will stream for free on Bethesda’s YouTube and Twitch channels.

Bethesda is also setting up a Skyrim Museum where fans can submit their Skyrim art pieces for fellow community members to enjoy.

So, if you’re a Skyrim diehard and you’re looking to show off that cool Skyrim portrait you made years ago, now is your time to shine.
