Set Photos Show Daniel Radcliffe Transform into “Weird Al” Yankovic

I think Harry’s the clone now.

In January, Roku announced that Daniel Radcliffe would be portraying “Weird Al” Yankovic in an upcoming feature film. Now, recent set photos have revealed the actor’s transformation into the Grammy-winning parody musician and pop-cultural icon.

As Radcliffe’s getup looked more like a top-quality Halloween costume complete with a curly wig and mustache, it’s almost an indication of how the film won’t take itself too seriously—in true Weird Al style.

Filming began last week in Los Angeles, and with Yankovic himself being involved, one can expect it to be just as outlandishly hilarious as his songs.

Titled WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story, the biopic will hold nothing back as it promises to explore “every facet of Yankovic’s life” with his rise to fame with hits like Eat It, Like a Surgeon, Amish Paradise, White & Nerdy, and I Think I’m a Clone Now, among other classics.

After the announcement in January, Yankovic wrote a tweet praising Radcliffe and linked a clip of the actor singing Tom Lehrer’s “The Elements” on The Graham Norton Show, saying that was what really “clinched the deal” for him.

If you still doubt Radcliffe’s chops, then here’s another proof of why he’s the perfect choice to play Al.

Written by Yankovic and Eric Appel, who also directs, Funny or Die and Tango are set to produce the film.

WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story will stream exclusively on The Roku Channel. However, a release date is yet to be confirmed.
