Kurama FINALLY Returns in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Latest Chapter

Chapter 9 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex has dropped a huge reveal, sending a shockwave across the Naruto fandom. Kurama, the beloved Nine-Tailed Beast, has finally reappeared. Shockingly, Kurama did not return to Naruto but to his daughter Himawari instead. Is this good or bad? We can only wait to find out.

As Juda and Hidari try to discover Himawari’s hidden strength, her father’s “curse” reappears. During the battle against Isshiki Otsutsuki, Naruto’s victory came at a great cost. Naruto was forced to say goodbye to his lifelong friend, Kurama. Regardless, Kishimoto has decided it’s about time the Demon Fox came back.

During the intense battle against Jura, Himawari was put in an extremely dangerous situation. Moreover, Himawari felt guilty about her friends being targeted because of her. As a result of her emotions, Kurama decided to talk to her for the first time.

However, the Nine-Tailed Beast does not have the same strength and size as it once did. Kurama appears in a puppy-like form with all nine majestic tails. During the battle with Isshiki, Kurama’s chakra took a huge hit, making him much weaker.

Regardless, Himawari and Kurama will likely only get stronger together as Kurama regains his chakra. Once they’ve both matured, this duo could be as fearsome as the Seventh Hokage himself.

How Did Kurama Die?

With Kurama’s huge store of Chakra and Naruto’s skillset, it was a shocking scene when he died. However, Naruto needed even more strength to defeat Isshiki and save the world.

As a result, Kurama devised a way to use all of his chakra and unlock Naruto’s Baryon Mode. Unbeknownst to Naruto, these few minutes of incredible strength would cost Kurama his life.

Kurama’s revival was actually pretty obvious to some hardcore Naruto readers. Kishimoto has explained that Tailed Beasts never actually die as they reincarnate every time. This was proven during the first season of Naruto, where Rin died as a Jinchuriki of the Three-Tailed Beast.

Later in the series, Isobu, the Three-Tails, was found roaming the earth to be captured by the Akatsuki. However, Kurama’s situation is special as he directly reincarnated into Himawari’s body. This unique situation is yet to be explained since sealing a Tailed Beast into a human is highly complicated.

Why Didn’t Boruto Get Kurama?

As the first child of Naruto, Boruto should have been the obvious choice for Kurama’s inherited chakra. There are still too many questions surrounding Kurama’s revival to know for sure.

Kurama’s appearance in Himawari could have been by choice or accident. One possible explanation is that Boruto has pushed himself much further than Himawari. As a result, Boruto has faced near-complete chakra exhaustion, preventing Kurama from forming.

A more exciting possibility is that Boruto does have Kurama within him. However, Boruto’s Otsutsufication caused over 82% of his data to be overwritten. Kurama’s chakra could’ve been lost or hidden somewhere deep within this process.

How Strong Is Naruto Without Kurama? Is Naruto Weak Now?
