Rise of the Ronin Completion Guide – How long does it take to beat the game?

Rise of the Ronin is a fantastic open-world action RPG set in 19th century Japan. It has a well-designed single-player campaign involving many fascinating characters, game affecting choices, thrilling close quarter combats, and a mesmerizing world to explore.

The game story unfolds in three chapters with each one having many main missions, bond missions, and other smaller missions. Having so many missions and things to do in the game ensures that players get their money’s worth of playtime out of it.

1. How long does it take to beat Rise of the Ronin?

It takes around 22 hours to beat the campaign mode and finish the main storyline in Rise of the Ronin. Additionally, it takes about 52 hours to complete the storyline along with the side quests. Moreover, it takes more than 74 hours to 100% complete the game.

It takes more or less the same time to beat this game when compared to similar games like Ghost of Tsushima and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, but it comes nowhere close in playtime when compared to Nioh 2, which takes around 40 hours to beat.

2. Does Rise of the Ronin have multiple endings?

Rise of the Ronin has 2 alternate endings, and it depends on a choice given near the end of the game, where players have to choose whether to kill or spare their “Blade Twin.”

  • Killing the Blade Twin (Bad Ending): It leads to the blade twin dying but a small part of the city will still burn leading to an unsatisfactory common ending.

This ending will lead players to miss out on an extra epilogue but reward them with a fancy armor set.

  • Sparing the Blade Twin (Good Ending): This ending will lead to an ideological warfare between your character and the blade twin resulting into a change of heart of the Blade Twin, who will later flee Japan.

This ending will reveal a secret epilogue, but unfortunately, with this ending players won’t receive that fancy armor set of the Blade Twin.
