It was a nicely done episode with some great moments. There were a lot of heartfelt moments that caught the viewers off guard. Akira goes out to get some beer and realizes the importance of doing things that are important to him before he turns into a zombie.

We also met Mikazuki Shizuka, a smart, calculative girl who avoids taking risks and is seeking ways to increase her chances of survival. The meeting between Akira and Mikazuki was sudden and quite destructive, but it did show us the contrast between the two.

It’s time for Akira to fulfill his wishes, all the while adding more to the list. Now, it is time for him to meet his best friend, Ryuuzaki. It will be a dynamic and hilarious reunion that is surely going to entertain the viewers.

Akira might meet Mikazuki again. Akira will be desperate to reconnect with his friends again. However, a lot of them are unable to come online. So, he decides to set out to meet his friend Ryuuzaki, smashing his way through all the zombies and chaos.

3. Episode 2 Recap

Akira wakes up from a nightmare and rejoices after realizing that he doesn’t have to go to work anymore. There is no bound to his happiness. He cleans his room for the first time in three years and feels all fresh.

He decides to drink beer all day and just enjoy. Unfortunately, he runs out of beer. Seeing he can’t live without it; he decides to set out of the house. He meets Kosaka and his wife while going down using the pipeline.

He cycles his way to the store and meets a young beautiful girl inside, picking up drinks. He tries to strike up a conversation, but she is not interested. He asks her if they can share contact info.

She tells him that she can’t exchange contact with someone who can’t analyze the risk around him. Zombies start swarming in the store. Akira rushes ahead to protect her, but she pulls him back as a huge truck comes crashing into the store.

She leaves on his cycle. He takes a scotty to return back and, on the way, finds a stylish bike and picks it up. He climbs up the pipeline and calls out for Kosaka, but there is no one in their apartment, and there is blood all over.

Seeing this, he realizes that there are things he wants to do before he turns into a zombie. He starts noting down all his wishes in a notebook.

He names the notebook “100 Things I Want to Do Before Becoming a Zombie.” The narrative shifts to the girl Akira we met earlier and shows her daily schedule. She wakes up early in the morning and exercises.

To survive the apocalypse, she lists down all the important stuff she wants to do. She installs the camera to look out for zombies and collect raw data. She then goes to the store.

Despite being surrounded by zombies, she managed to escape thanks to the uncontrolled bus.

She has also curated a list named “100 Things to Do to Avoid Becoming a Zombie.”

Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead is a dystopian horror-comedy manga series written by Haro Aso and illustrated by Kotaro Takata. It has been serialized in Shogakukan’s seinen manga magazine Monthly Sunday Gene-X since October 2018 and is collected into 13 volumes.

The manga was also nominated for the Eisner Award in two categories in 2022.

The story follows a 24-year-old Akira Tendou who has lost all his motivation and spirit due to working for an exploitative company. One day he witnesses his landlord eating another tenant and sees that the city has been infested with zombies, but instead of being afraid, Akira has never felt more alive. He sets out to survive the apocalypse with a bucket list and makes a few friends along the way.
