It was an amazing finale episode with lots of emotional and heart-touching scenes. We got to explore Kanta’s life and see what he has been going through. 

His end was truly the highlight of the episode. Akira couldn’t help but console him in his final moments and help him find peace for once. The villagers rebuild the city while Akira heads for the north.

1. Episode 13 Release Date

Episode 13 of Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead will not be released as soon as the first season has officially ended. There has been no official announcement about the second season as of now. 2. Episode 13 Speculations

This season officially ends with episode 12, but it is pretty obvious that we will soon be getting another season of Akira’s zombie adventure. 

The anime adapted 22 chapters of the manga, and there is still a whole lot of content left to be seen in this wonderful animation style. Akira will head north, meet more friends and enemies, and learn about life. So, stay tuned for further updates about the second season. 

3. Episode 12 Recap

The episode starts with Kanta’s internal monologue where he despises his life as he could not have friends during high school and college life. He even loathed Akira for living such a carefree life. 

Back in the present, Kanta threatens to kill Akira’s father. Akira gets desperate to save him, but his father tells him not to waste his life for him. Akira thinks hard, and after some time, he opens the door of the house, allowing the zombies to come in.

Akira comes out as a zombie. Kanta rejoices but it turns out Akira is just acting. He successfully saves his father. Kanta gets frustrated as he fails to live a free life. 

Akira asks him what the thing was he wanted to do. Suddenly, a zombie bites Kanta’s leg. After a moment, Kanta replies that he only wanted to go to the pool with his friends. 

Akira promises him that he will go to the pool with Kanta the day he becomes a zombie. He hugs him, fulfilling his 25th wish on the list: to give free hugs. Everyone reunites and starts running from the zombies. 

They reach the suspension bridge but find it broken. Kumano shows up at the other side of the bridge and helps them cross it. Everybody successfully crosses the bridge. Akira completes the 38th wish on his list: give back to my parents.

The villagers start rebuilding their village. Akira sits beside his father, who is in pain because of a fatal disease. However, he finds out that his father is suffering from hemorrhoids. He is relieved by this revelation.

Akira decides to leave the village, go out, and find the cure for the virus so that he can cure his father’s hemorrhoids. He adds another wish to his list: make dad get hemorrhoid surgery.

His friends add some things to the list. The next morning, they head to fulfill their wishes. Akira decides to go north.

Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead is a dystopian horror-comedy manga series written by Haro Aso and illustrated by Kotaro Takata. It has been serialized in Shogakukan’s seinen manga magazine Monthly Sunday Gene-X since October 2018 and is collected into 13 volumes.

The manga was also nominated for the Eisner Award in two categories in 2022.

The story follows a 24-year-old Akira Tendou who has lost all his motivation and spirit due to working for an exploitative company. One day he witnesses his landlord eating another tenant and sees that the city has been infested with zombies, but instead of being afraid, Akira has never felt more alive. He sets out to survive the apocalypse with a bucket list and makes a few friends along the way.
