Akira Tendou watches a zombie movie at home, in a trash-filled apartment, with his eyes swollen and sunken. He narrates how he got a dream job at his dream production company three years ago, but the job was not as he thought.
Tendou’s first day goes well, and he develops a crush on his coworker Ohtori. Tendou discovers that the company’s workers overwork and pull all-nighters for days, and so must he. Tendou begins hating work at the company but cannot pull himself out of the extremely tiring and hazardous work life.
When Tendou arrives at work, he discovers that all his coworkers have turned into zombies and that the outbreak is spreading across the city. Instead of fearing, Tendou is overwhelmed with happiness and freedom because he will no longer have to go to work.
Tendou decides to meet Ohtori to convey his feelings but finds the CEO at her house since they are having an affair. Only the CEO has turned into a zombie. Tendou announces he will be quitting the company and kills his boss.
When Ohtori arrives, Tendou confesses his love as she becomes a zombie. He runs away and says goodbye. Happy with his new freedom, Tendou decides to do whatever he wants and begins making a bucket list.

Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead is a dystopian horror-comedy manga series written by Haro Aso and illustrated by Kotaro Takata. It has been serialized in Shogakukan’s seinen manga magazine Monthly Sunday Gene-X since October 2018 and is collected into 13 volumes.
The manga was also nominated for the Eisner Award in two categories in 2022.
The story follows a 24-year-old Akira Tendou who has lost all his motivation and spirit due to working for an exploitative company.
