Leak Claims ‘Zom 100’ Anime Adaptation is Under Production

A zombie apocalypse is every sci-fi or action lover’s dream, but it wouldn’t be as thrilling if it were to happen in reality. However, the protagonist of Zom 100, Akira Tendou, is a little different and feels somewhat alive in such a scenario.

Before you think of him as psychotic, I want to clarify that he’s just an exploited office worker who has lost his spark. Honestly, I don’t blame him because even a zombie apocalypse is far better than corporate slavery.

Although the manga is not that popular, it still has a significant amount of fans who’d be happy to know that Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead might be getting an anime.

Leaks have claimed that the anime adaptation of this dystopian horror-comedy has been under production since May 2022. In a recent update, we learned that the manga has a big announcement to make in the Monthly Sunday GX magazine’s issue #2/2023.

As for those who don’t know what the story is about, let me give you an idea.

Akira Tendou is a 24-year-old man who lost all his motivation and energy due to working for an exploitative company in Japan. He is so broken inside that he can’t even gather the courage to ask out his coworker, Ohtori, on a date.

Living a mundane life with nothing to look forward to, Akira feels alive for the first time in years when he comes across his landlord eating another tenant. Akira sees zombies swarming the city, and instead of being afraid, the man is thrilled and sets out to survive this apocalypse with a bucket list.

I’m really excited to see how the anime adaptation of this one turns out.

Since the franchise has a big announcement to make in the magazine, they’ll most likely confirm its anime adaptation. More details on it might be included, and we’ll have them all here for you, so stay tuned.
