The best builds for Zhu Yuan in Zenless Zone Zero include a high amount of CRIT DMG, a good W-Engine, and a 4-pc + 2-pc Drive Disc set with CRIT and ATK% as preferred stat.

2. Brief Overview of Zhu Yuan’s Kit
Zhu Yuan is an ether attack character whose playstyle depends on accumulating Enhanced Shotshells, the most important source of her damage. Players can gain these Enhanced Shotshells using EX Special Attack, Dodge Counter, Assist Follow-Up, or Ultimate.
The number of Shotshells can be viewed below her HP bar. Once the number is full (up to 10), hold down the Basic Attack or use a Dash Attack to deal Ether DMG and consume Enhanced Shotshells, dealing massive damage.
3. Best W-Engines for Zhu Yuan
Zhu Yuan’s best W-Engine is her signature one, the Riot Suppressor Mark VI. It gives her a 15% Crit Rate and eight charge stacks when she launches an EX special attack.
Each time she damages an enemy with a basic attack, a charge is consumed, buffing her ether damage by 35%. This synergizes perfectly with the Enhanced Shotshells, giving her a massive damage boost.

4. Best Drive Discs
The 4-piece Chaotic Metal set is recommended for Zhu Yuan as it increases her Ether DMG and CRIT DMG. The CRIT DMG buff can be increased if any party member triggers Corruption. The 2-piece Woodpecker Electro is also suggested since it provides some extra CRIT Rate.
Equip her with the following main stat in the respective slot to deal more damage while inflicting Daze.
- Crit Rate or Crit DMG- 4th slot
- Ether DMG or ATK%- 5th slot
- Energy Regen or ATK%- 6th slot
5. Best Teammates
Nicole/ Rina (Support) and Lycaon/ Anby (Support) are Zhu Yuan’s best teammates because of their synergy.
This team can easily activate the Corrupted effect on enemies, boosting Zhu Yuan’s damage through her Drive Disc’s passive. Nicole works best with her, activating each other’s Core Skills while decreasing the enemy’s DEF.
Lycaon is the best choice for stunning enemies, increasing the stun multiplier and further boosting Zhu Yuan’s damage. An alternative to Lycaon is Anby, who benefits from Nicole’s faction boost and can stun enemies. Rina is also a good option due to her faction boost with Lycaon.
Note: Use Resonaboo when using Nicole. Use Buttler when using Rina and Lycaon on the same team.
