Ever since Zack Snyder’s Justice League was announced, fans have gone into a frenzy of excitement and anticipation. Theories and speculations were happening all over the place about the film. And, of course, fans were also curious about his plans for the future of DCEU.
Zack Snyder’s 5-movie plan for DCEU would have made Superman, played by Henry Cavill, into the comics’ classic one. But that in all in the past now, as he says, he has no plans to further develop his SnyderVerse.
In an interview with ComicBook Debate, Snyder says that he has no plans to continue with DCEU after his Director’s cut of Justice League releases in March on HBO Max.
However, Snyder has still been teasing snippets and stories about what would have happened in his movies for DCEU.
He has mentioned how the 5-film arc could have seen Henry Cavill’s Superman (who debuted with Man of Steel in 2013) turn into the classic hero heavily featured in the Comics.
He says that the Black suit of Superman as seen in Justice League will be the bookmark of his progress and that the complete potential of Cavill’s character would have been realized.
But yet, any films that Snyder has planned in the past might not come to fruition since the DC executives consider the upcoming Justice League Snyder Cut as a dead-end for storytelling.
Snyder says that “The DC universe has gone and branched off and done its own thing and that’s fine.”
“As far as what I did and as far as what my vision for what I wanted to do with these characters and the journey I wanted them to go on, it’s well known that I planned on more movies, five movies or something, but I’m busy. I’ve got a lot going on,” Snyder added.
As disappointing as it is, fans will have to accept that there’s not much hope for Snyder’s franchise projects. Hopefully, his Director’s cut of Justice League is successful enough for the studio to bring Zack back for more.
