Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 264 finally revealed Yuji Itadori’s Domain Expansion. Yuji used his domain expansion during the fight with Sukuna. His replacement training with Atsuya Kusakabe helped him learn the basics of barriers.

Yuji’s domain expansion looked like a train station, and he traveled through his memories. He took Sukuna on a tour through his old memories, showing him the places he visited as a child and sharing small details about them. They both spent time together fishing and talking until Sukuna lost his patience.

The details about Yuji’s domain expansion and the intricate workings have not been revealed yet. Yuji used his domain in such a manner to not harm Megumi yet contain Sukuna in it. He wanted a chance to talk to Sukuna in order to convey his pity towards the King of Curses.

We speculate that the shown domain might not be the entire part but rather a glimpse of what it is. Even though Yuji himself was not aware of his domain’s capabilities, he was confident enough to trap Sukuna in it. Fans can expect to find more revelations about Yuji’s domain in the upcoming chapters.

Yuji’s Hand Sign

Another genius thing about Yuji’s domain expansion was his hand sign, which didn’t go unnoticed by the fans. His hand sign is similar to Sukuna’s which represents Yama, the King of Hell. Yuji’s hand sign is that of Ksitigarbha, a reversed bodhisattva in East Asian Buddhism. Ksitigarbha, aka Jizo Bodhisattva (in Japan), can be translated as an Earth womb, which resembles Yuji as a vessel.

Ksithigarbha was known for not becoming a Buddha until hell was purified, making him the guardian entity similar to Yuji. Yuji always looked out for others and was there even during their final moments, thereby matching Ksithigarbha. This might also foreshadow that he could purify hell or defeat Sukuna, considering the manga is reaching its end soon.
