In Season 5, Episode 9, Missy and Sheldon deal with their own version of the yips. Meanwhile, George Sr gets increasingly wary of his relationship with Brenda. Read what’s coming up for Episode 10!
Episode 10 Speculations
Episode 10 is titled “An Expensive Glitch and a Goof-Off Room,” but no promo clips have been released so far. The show will be going on its regular Holiday season hiatus and will only return in the first week of January 2022.
George Sr and Brenda’s oncoming affair is hinted to be the centerpiece of Season 5, so the second half may play into it more.
In case you haven’t noticed, the show decided to do a small time jump with Episode 7, which is why Sheldon is in a new college term. This brings him right to the age when he discovers his father’s affair, as narrated to Penny in The Big Bang Theory.
In TBBT, Sheldon makes it seem that Mary has always been unaware of the affair. But he’s been an unreliable narrator in both the shows, so the upcoming episodes may shed some light on the truth.
Georgie will continue his tryst with street-smart careers instead of formal education, currently handling Connie’s gambling room while Missy navigates her world of baseball and boy problems.
Episode 10 Release Date

Episode 9 Recap
I. Missy Gets the Yips
The episode begins with Missy being unable to pitch properly at her baseball game. Dale informs her that she has the yips, a term used in sports when an athlete is unable to play like they normally do.
In a subsequent match, Dale helps Missy overcome this predicament by intentionally angering her, saying how choosing to have a girl on his team was a big mistake. The comments distract Missy from her yips, and she is able to pitch again, winning the match.
II. Then, Sheldon Gets the Yips
After Missy explains to Sheldon what the yips are, he begins to experience something similar while giving his mid-term test. He believes the “contagious” yips are what caused him to go blank when answering a very easy problem.
For help, he goes to George Sr, who tells him to “Just do it” Nike-style, and then to Georgie, who is unable to teach Sheldon how to “not think,” as he does.
Finally, Sheldon resorts to watching TV, where he stumbles upon his solution — watching Bob Ross, an oddly hypnotic bohemian, paint calms him down and he is able to get over his yips.
III. George Sr is apprehensive about his relationship with Brenda
Throughout Season 5, George Sr and Brenda have been growing closer in small instances. When he goes over to help Brenda with numerous repairs around the house, he begins to worry they might cross the line.
George Sr tries to ask Brenda about the nature of their relationship, but they get into a fight instead. When he gets back home, he covers his own guilt by being extra romantic with Mary. Later that night when George Sr meets up with Principal Petersen, he thinks of setting Brenda up with him.
