The ending of Yellowstone season 5, episode 4, is all about Beth and her Sherlocking around the entire Dutton household.
The episode starts with Beth in jail for hitting the woman in the bar last week. As usual, Jamie saves the day by convincing the woman that if she presses charges, she’ll get prosecuted too.
On the way home, Beth learns about Jamie’s illegitimate child when she notices a child-seat at the back of his car. Now, it’s Jamie’s turn to feel helpless.
As fans of this show, we are all aware of the tragedy that happened to teenage Beth. Jamie sterilized her without her permission to avoid an unwanted pregnancy. That ghost of her past haunts her till now and makes her hate her brother even more.
You have my womb cut out of me, and God gave you a boy?
Even though Jamie confesses that it was the biggest mistake of his life, Beth seeks revenge. And she gets a chance to get back at her brother at the very end of the episode.
Jamie takes Sarah Atwood to dinner at Deerfield Club despite knowing that it is Beth’s favorite place to hang out.
Given that Beth threatens to ruin his life at the beginning of this episode, it would have been wise for Jamie to use some common sense. But we wouldn’t be having a show if Jamie were to have that, would we? (Ouch)
During the meeting, things heat up, and the two find a bathroom to have sex. Meanwhile, Beth keeps a watch on them from a nearby booth.
With Jamie and Sarah occupied, Beth sneaks into Sarah’s purse and snaps photos of her license. The fans’ eyes light up because they feel something spicy cooking up!
Beth leaves without making her presence known. She later discovers that Sarah is not the woman she claims to be. What are her intentions, and how does Jamie fit into the equation? We can sense that this Sarah woman will have Jamie wrapped around her fingers in no time.
Later that night. Beth becomes the sole witness of another blasphemous fiasco. While researching Sarah’s identity, she spots a half-naked Summer Higgins heading toward the kitchen.
It is clear that John Dutton is sleeping with her. Beth and Summer are both bitter women, and they hurl insults at each other.
At the very end, Beth becomes frustrated and says, ‘I am not starting the day sober,’ and we can’t really blame her, can we?
