Later, Yotsume uses the rainbow pearl to absorb the girls’ demon powers and casts dream gazing. Which puts them in a dream-like state where they encounter dreams of events that happened in their parents’ past.
Yotsume is, however, defeated and Kyuki takes matters into her own hands and attacks the half-demon princesses. Kyuki is later defeated as well making Riku the owner of the rainbow pearl.

3. Episode 8 Recap
Episode 8, titled “The Dream Gazing Trap,” starts with a chase sequence. Moroha and Setsuna, being quick on their feet, chase Yotsume, catch up to him and confront him.
The confrontation turns into a battle when Yotsume absorbs the rainbow pearl and turns into a full owl demon throwing attacks towards the girls.
Meanwhile, Riku seems to have a conversation with Jyubei and it is revealed that he plans to use Towa and her sisters to obtain all seven rainbow pearls and gain tremendous amounts of demonic powers.
Towa arrives at the battle scene later riding on top of Takechiyo, but the two are attacked as soon as they arrive.
Setsuna is the only one conscious without fainting from Yotsume’s attack. Yotsume’s dream gazing attack puts Moroha, Towa and Takechiyo in a dream-like state.
Moroha watches Miroku handing off a young Takechiyo to Jyubei the corpse dealer. Jyubei addresses Takechiyo as “young lord” making it known that he is of noble blood.
However, Takechiyo witnesses Kagome and Inuyasha in his dreams. Kagome is holding a young Moroha and gifting a shell from Moroha’s grandma while inuyasha is protecting them from someone.
Kagome hands Moroha to Mr. Hachi and he flies away leaving Inuyasha to protect Kagome from what seems like Sesshoumaru and Kirinmaru.
Towa has a dream about Setsuna and she witnesses how the dream butterfly eats away her sister’s dreams.
Her dream continues as she sees the Tree of Ages and watches a lifeless Rin stuck inside. The dream butterfly showers the stolen dreams at Rin’s body and it seems to be talking to Towa.
Setsuna attacks Yotsume with a scourge of swallow spell and defeats him.
However, the rainbow pearl in his eye is picked up by Kyuki and she attacks the half-demon princesses in her fortress. The girls try to attack but their powers are absorbed by the pearl.
Kyuki swallows the pearl and transforms into a white winged tiger demon. Setsuna is injured by Kyuki making Towa furious as to not being able to protect her sister.
Towa’s anger makes her powers grow and she strikes down Kyuki with one hit. The rainbow pearl is later picked up by Riku who greets the princesses before heading off on his journey holding onto the pearl with a devious grin on his face.
