Moroha seems to have formed a close bond with her great grandfather, and Setsuna acquires the skill of playing the Violin quickly.

Later, Moroha tells the girls to pack up as she has found a way to go back to Feudal Japan. She packs what seems like a bag Kagome used to carry, full of modern-day items. Setsuna takes her Violin.

Towa later talks with her adoptive father, Sota, who reminisces about his big sister and tells Towa to go with her sister if she wants to.

Moroha tells the Root Head to let them pass through the gate to exchange their rainbow pearls, and it agrees. Towa promises Mei to come back to them.

Then pass through and get greeted by the Spirit of the Tree of Ages, who appears in the form of Kikyo.

The spirit requests Sesshoumaru’s daughters to defeat the Beast King Kirinmaru, trying to twist time and swallow the feudal world.

She informs them that Kirinmaru was the ruler of demons in the East while their grandfather, the Great Dog-Demon, ruled the West. Sesshoumaru denouncing his title as the ruler made Kirinmaru take advantage of the whole situation.

Moroha agrees to the request in hopes of a significant sum of bounty, while Setsuna refuses as she cannot remember her father, Sesshoumaru.
