Episode 3 of Yashahime titled “The Dream Butterfly” starts with Moroha, Setsuna and the three eyed centipede getting dragged into a vortex which sends them into the present time in front of Towa and the Higurashi Shrine.
Later, Towa finds out about Setsuna losing her memories to the dream-eating butterfly and forgetting everything about Towa in the past.
Towa feels guilty and wants to reconnect with her sister. The girls stay the night in Higurashi’s house and try to remember their past.

1. Episode 4 Release Date
Episode 4 of the Yashahime anime, titled “The Gateway to the Past”, has been released on Saturday, Oct 24, 2020.

No, Yashahime is not on a break next week. Episode 4 will be released as scheduled.
2. Episode 4 Speculation
A small preview of Episode 4 was shown at the end of the third episode.
Moroha tries to negotiate with Root Head to go back to her place in the Feudal Era. The three girls plan to look for the dream butterfly in order for Setsuna to get back her memories.
The Tree of Ages looks like a priestess. We find Kikyo protecting the tree of ages and what seems like Kagome stuck inside of it. Kikyo asks for the girls’ help and greets them.
Why is Kagome stuck inside the Tree of Ages?
Episode 4 might reveal some truth behind it and also disclose the name of the mother of Setsuna and Towa.
3. Episode 3 Recap
Episode 3 titled “The Dream Butterfly” starts with Towa being shocked with the sudden appearance of Setsuna and Moroha in present day Japan.
The three eyed centipede plans to steal the rainbow pearls when Towa attacks it. Towa’s Kikujumonji breaks on collision with the centipede when Moroha calls out Towa for carrying a fake blade.
Towa makes a demon energy blade with her powers and kills off the three eyed centipede with Setsuna landing the last strike.
Setsuna refuses to recognize Towa while Moroha introduces herself and tells them the truth about half-demons.
Meanwhile, Kaede talks to Kohaku and his demon-slayer crew about Setsuna and her being the child of Sesshoumaru and learns about the root demon attaching itself with the Tree of Ages.
Setsuna challenges Towa to a duel to prove her strength when Hitokon chooses Towa as the host and she charges towards Setsuna and Moroha with all her might.
The two sisters engage in a fearsome battle when suddenly the Hitokon transfers itself to Mei, Towa’s step sister.
Setsuna scatters a resting moth’s powder in the air and puts everyone to sleep. Setsuna then sprinkles some slayer potion to the Hitokon and kills it.
The girls stay the nights at the Higurashi’s and talk about Setsuna forgetting her memories and never being able to sleep because of the dream butterfly. Towa thinks that it’s all her fault and cries to sleep.
We can’t wait for what Episode 4 has to offer and hopefully it can answer all the questions related to Setsuna’s past and the Tree of Ages.
