In episode 10 of Ya Boy Kongming! Eiko has finally mixed her newfound voice with her truest desires to sing and impressed Steve Kido enough to work on her new song.
Once Eiko completes that song, she will be one massive step closer to her goal of 100K likes on her socials and her golden ticket to performing at Summer Sonia.
All the eyes are on her since Kabetaejin was able to overcome his anxiety and take down his long-time rival Sekitoba Kung Fu in a rap battle, once again winning not only the competition but also everyone’s hearts.
Her friend turned rival, Nanami from Azalea, is also not willing to back down. She has sold her soul to the devil and is ready to go to the depths of hell if that is what it takes to achieve her goal.
Hopes on Eiko’s new song are high, but the question is, will it be enough?
Episode 11 Speculations
The tenth episode ends on a very upbeat and hopeful note. Eiko now has a name for her new song; she calls it “Dreamer.”
She hopes that her words and feelings will clearly be conveyed through those lyrics and reach the heart of one very special person, the only one that stands between her and her ticket to Summer Sonia, Azalea’s lead, Nanami.
The next episode will be the day when we get to see the payoff for Eiko’s struggle. She is up against literal stars, and the odds are not really bent in her favor. This might be one pickle that might just prove to be too big for even the great Kongming to handle.
Whatever be the case, the one thing I am certainly excited about is the fact that we might just get a new song to listen to instead of hearing the same one again and again whenever music is mentioned in the show.

Episode 10 Recap
Eiko is determined to finally go ahead and record her new single. She had been extremely surprised upon realizing that her friend Nanami is none other than the lead singer of Azalea and her cutthroat rival but was moved after hearing her story.
She wishes to reach out to her with her new song and inspire her to follow her dreams instead of what her manager was making them do.
Eiko has already reached one soul, and that is Kabe, her advice of going back to the roots really helped him find himself, and he is now able to rap the way he used to. With that, he is ready to face off against Sekitoba.
With the positivity from Kabe and her determination set, she is able to impress Steve Kido, who agrees to arrange her song.
On the other hand, Nanami struggles to refuse anything her manager throws at her. Azalea’s manager suddenly arranges for a surprise show within five days in Shibuya with a prize pool of a million yen in order to motivate people to like their music.
Nanami reluctantly agrees and wishes for Eiko to win since she cannot do so with just the power of music anymore; only Eiko can.
Kabe’s battle against Sekitoba is nigh. He is as nervous as he thought he would be, but more than that, he is excited to be back on stage, especially after reuniting with his friends and rekindling his love for rap.
He goes on stage and wipes the floor with his opponent, but it looks like that was precisely what Sekitoba wanted. Moments before the results were about to be announced, Sekitoba declared Kabe the winner and walked away with a smile.
Watching that display of passion, Eiko is all the more excited about her recording. Over at Kid’s studio, she listens to her arrangement and is surprised at how beautiful it sounds. She wishes to sing to it, and sing she does.
Eiko’s music is so moving that it transports Kongming back to the time when he was meeting up with his master, Liu Bei. Ekio brings him back to reality and immediately goes back to recording again as Kid is not entirely happy with the previous ones.
The recordings are soon over, but we are not played the finished song yet; that will probably be the kicker for the next episode, one that I am pretty excited about.

Ya Boy Kongming! is a comedy manga written by Yuto Yotsuba and illustrated by Ryo Ogawa and started serialization on Kodansha’s Comic Days website in December 2019.
The story features a war strategist from ancient China, Liang Zhuge or Kongming, transported to modern-day Japan while on his deathbed. In the modern world, Kongming encounters Eiko Tsukumi and becomes a fan of her singing. Kongming promises Eiko that he will make her dreams come true to stop her from quitting.
