Ya Boy Kongming! Episode 8: Release Date, Speculation, Watch Online

The tension is high as the deadline for the 100, 000 likes project, the contest that would lead Eiko to Summer Sonia keeps creeping closer.

Kongming comes up with a strategy to help Eiko reach that seemingly impossible number but a slow burner that cuts that close to the deadline is not something everyone is comfortable with.

That stratagem has more moving pieces than what anyone there is comfortable with. Pieces that don’t exactly meld well with each other.

Kongming is pushing everyone to their absolute limits with this one, will they break or will they come shining like never before, nobody knows.

Episode 8 Speculations

With the previous episode ending with a budding friendship forming between the phenomenal Nanami and Eiko, she could potentially get another member on her team, or maybe she has found a Sasuke to her Naruto.

Whatever be the case, the course for the next episode seems oddly obvious unless Kongming throws another curveball. We will probably see Eiko visit the Tokyo Skytree, get captivated, and set off to find her own voice. A conquest in which I am certain her newfound friend, Nanami will aid her greatly.

On the other hand, Kabe’s rap battle against Sekitoba seems to be the more exciting thing on the itinerary right now as Sekitoba had been looking to go against Kabe for a long time, and now that he has the opportunity he is going to make sure that it is one for the books. 

Episode 8 Release Date

Episode 8 of the Ya Boy Kongming! anime has been released on Thursday, May 19, 2022. The episode title or preview has not been shown.

Episode 8 of Ya Boy Kongming! will be released as per schedule. No delay has been announced.

Episode 7 Recap

The episode starts off with Kongming giving the rest of the tea a basic rundown on his strategy to reach 100,000 likes to reach Summer Sonia.

He was ready with all the info and analytical data on their competitors among which, he deduces that the girls’ band called Azalea to be their greatest threat since they were backed by the infamous agency, Key Time.

Eiko and everybody begin panicking while planning the next post on her socials immediately but Kongming calms them down telling them that the most opportune moment to make that post is 3 days before the deadline naming the day, “X Day”.

Their Golden Ticket to 100K likes would be Eiko’s unreleased and unmastered song. To get the professional work done, Kongming had already booked her a studio while he had a whole different assignment for Kabe.

Kabe was supposed to have a rap battle with his initial role model and now rival, Sekitoba Kung Fu, a battle he was dreading.

The plan is labeled “Plan for Peace Throughout the World – Volume -1” and with that, everyone rushes off to their respective jobs.

Eiko ends up in front of the studio for her first-ever professional recording session. Jittery and nervous, she takes out the packages Kongming had given her to open if she ended up nervous. The packages were numbered and were to be opened in that manner.

Eiko opens all three but is confused by the contents so she simply chooses to follow the first one that tells her to buy two jumbo packs of Puri Pudding.

She manages to find her way into the studio but is totally stunned by the producer Kongming had set up for her as it turned out to be Steve Kido, a complete weirdo, and a renowned DJ.

After a jam session with Eiko, that only happened because Kongming’s advised puddings happened to be his favorite snacks to eat at the studio, he politely threw her out telling her that she needed to find “HER” voice before she came back for the recording.

While all this was going on, kabe was drowning himself in sports drinks and trying to come up with bars to fire against his rival Sekitoba and to find the meaning behind the tidbit that Kongming had thrown his way.

Where Kabe bashed his head against a piece of paper and his thoughts, Eiko took her frustration out on her legs as she walked all the way to Shibuya Hachiko Square. The second package from Kongming was a road permit to perform at that very spot.

Looking for a good spot she observed that every good spot was taken, probably relieved since she had never performed out on the road before and wasn’t too keen on doing so either. But suddenly a performer singing “I’m still alive today” caught her eye.

Enraptured she kept listening until the performer was interrupted by two police officers who asked her for a permit that she did not have. Eiko came to her rescue pretending to be her partner and showing her license for the two of them.

Since the license was already shared, the two decide to perform together, become good friends, and plan to perform again at the same place only, this time Eiko would be singing.

Ya Boy Kongming! is a comedy manga written by Yuto Yotsuba and illustrated by Ryo Ogawa and started serialization on Kodansha’s Comic Days website in December 2019.

The story features a war strategist from ancient China, Liang Zhuge or Kongming, transported to modern-day Japan while on his deathbed. In the modern world, Kongming encounters Eiko Tsukumi and becomes a fan of her singing. Kongming promises Eiko that he will make her dreams come true to stop her from quitting.
