Larian Studios recently talked about Xbox users getting banned for recording certain scenes in Baldur’s Gate 3. These scenes usually contain some of the mature content present in the game. Thankfully, Xbox has come up with a solution for this infuriating issue but it has sparked some heated debate.
As a fix for getting banned without just reason, Xbox suggested players turn off the auto-upload feature in Baldur’s Gate 3. Players have raised their concern over why such a ban even exists in the first place.
Not to mention, the auto-upload function is enabled by default. So there are several gamers who don’t even know the exact reason behind their ban. Many even questioned why such a fuss is being created over approved scenes in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Since the content is already a part of Baldur’s Gate 3, players assumed it would be fine to capture those scenes. However, the recorded content is automatically uploaded to cloud servers which strictly prohibits nudity, according to the guidelines set by Microsoft.
Players are upset and rightfully so! One Xbox user received a year-long ban for the very exact reason. Such an issue can create a rather disappointing experience for Baldur’s Gate 3 fans.
Another workaround is to turn off the explicit content. However, most like to leave it on since the romance element in the game is pretty popular. Baldur’s Gate 3 is rated Mature, so players do know what they are getting into.
While the issue persists, players did report that bans are being lifted. Regardless of the solution provided by Xbox, players feel they could do better. Hopefully, the developers figure out a more convenient fix.
