Xbox Insider Update improves support for local languages, audio, and networking

Microsoft has historically always had a good January; this year, there’s even more reason for Xbox fans to be happy. With the first ever Developer’s Direct Livestream and announcement of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, fans wonder what is in store before the end of the month.

As a part of the new post on the Xbox Newswire Website, Microsoft has revealed the latest patch notes for the update, which are available exclusively to those who are a part of the Insider Program. Remember that this alpha build allows players to test a new change that reflects local languages across the console.

Other than these significant changes, other common issues have also been attempted to be fixed. This includes prevalent audio problems and networking issues. 

Microsoft elaborated that there were recurrent issues of the Xbox being unable to connect to the network on boot. They are urging players to report all such instances as soon as they can connect to the internet. 

One workaround for the network issue is to wait or restart the Xbox from the power center. Microsoft is urging all players on the console to proactively report bugs so that they can take action on them.

They also revealed the five-step process for a bug reaching the developers. First, players can report a problem by clicking the “X” icon on their controller. Microsoft, after that, triages actionable feedback to find “outliers, severe cases, and joint issues. 

Feedback is then grouped by everyday things based on the percentage of players who experience the issue. The issues are then reported to the Xbox engineers to facilitate a deeper investigation.

Soon after this, Xbox Engineers test the issues, find the root cause, and implement it to improve the quality of the builds for each preview ring. Their proactive subreddit has also been cited as suitable for reporting such bugs.  

It is great to see such proactive behavior from Microsoft after the recent issues with the firmware and saved game issues in Baldur’s Gate 3 on the Xbox Series X|S.
