Xbox showed off a lot of cool new stuff at E3 this year in their joint conference with Bethesda. Now, we’re going to be getting even more info on these upcoming games as Xbox has confirmed that it will be hosting a Gamescom 2021 presentation.
We got this info earlier today from the Xbox UK Twitter account. According to the tweet, Xbox will be host a special showcase at Gamescom 2021 later this month on August 24th, starting from 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET/6 p.m. BST.
The showcase has promised a lot of “in-depth updates from some of our previously announced Xbox Game Studios titles alongside some of our third-party partners.”
While this means we’ll get a lot of info on upcoming games, it also rules out the possibility that we will see the announcement of a new IP or title at this presentation.
But, there is always room for new titles from third-party developers in the showcase. Xbox’s statement of revealing information about previously-announced games is only related to its Xbox Game Studios titles and not any third-party games.
So, what can we expect to see during the Xbox Gamescom 2021 showcase? Well, if their E3 presentation is anything to go by, we’re hoping Starfield to make an appearance. The sci-fi space exploration game has caught the attention and interest of many fans, but we still don’t know much about the game itself. Redfall, by Arkane, is also expected to make an appearance.
Given that the Xbox Series X|S has been named the official console of Battlefield 2042, it is one of the third-party games we expect to be shown. Maybe we’ll get some actual gameplay footage, given that the beta is set for release in less than a month.
We’re hopeful that maybe we can also get an update for games like Fable 4, Age of Empires IV, and Forza Horizon 5.
We’ll have to wait and see what Xbox will be bringing to us, and their announcement of the showcase is sure to have fans excited.
