Microsoft has announced that five games would be leaving Xbox Game Pass in the coming month. The five games include Final Fantasy XV along with four other indie titles.
With Xbox Game Pass, players get access to a diverse catalog of games from big publishers like Microsoft and EA for a monthly subscription fee. The roster continues to grow with titles like ‘Control‘ coming to the service along with many other titles scheduled for release in the future.
Still, Xbox Game Pass comes with its own set of limitations. Some games, unfortunately, end up on the chopping block and must leave the service.
Final Fantasy XV and four other indie titles, namely, Indivisible, Gris, Sea Salt, and Fishing Sim World Pro Tour, would leave Xbox Game Pass on February 1, 2021, for both Xbox and PC.
Final Fantasy XV leaving Xbox Game Pass would be potentially beneficial to Sony. Final Fantasy XV is available to PS Plus subscribers as a part of the PS Plus Collection, meaning that subscribers can play the game on PS5 whenever they want. However, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can still purchase the game from the Microsoft store at a discount.
Although, it is not all bad for the Xbox Game Pass subscribers because there are still plenty of excellent games on the service. Microsoft has even promised that more Final Fantasy titles would be coming to the service in the future.
Earlier, it had been confirmed by Microsoft that Final Fantasy X: HD Remastered, Final Fantasy X-2: HD Remastered, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy XIII-2, and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII would come to Xbox Game Pass in the coming time.
Apart from the promised Final Fantasy games, there are other titles available on the service as well. As of now, Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII Remastered, and Final Fantasy IX are available for download on Xbox Game Pass.
The five games would not leave the service till February 1, 2021, meaning that fans still have some time to play them.
