Wuthering Waves Version 1.2 Leaks Reveal a Free Five-Star Character

Wuthering Waves by Kuro Games is one of the most generous gacha games, and players loved it since its release. The graphics, combat, and story are great, but what is more exciting are the free rewards that they occasionally give out.

When the game launched, we already received two free five–star characters— one from the novice convene and another from the free five-star selector ticket. But this time around, leaks have surfaced, revealing that Wuthering Waves version 1.2 will give us another free five-star character.

A trusted leaker on Twitter revealed that Xiangli Yao will be obtainable for free. Kuro Games revealed Xiangli Yao alongside another new five-star character, Zhezhi. 

Xiangli Yao is a five-star Electro DPS and the principal investigator at the Huaxu Academy in Jinzhou. Previously, he was speculated to use a Pistol, but leaks confirmed that he uses a Gauntlet. If so, he might be the second Electro DPS character after Yuanwu to use the Gauntlet. 

Zhezhi is expected to be a Cryo support and sub-DPS who works exceptionally well with Jinshi. There is no information about her kit or weapons, but it might be revealed soon. 

Considering Jinshi and Changli’s drip marketing and banner release order, Zhezhi will likely be featured in the first half of Version 1.2, while Xiangli Yao will be available in the second half. This is totally speculated and can change later.

While there is no official announcement, players can be rest assured about the new characters being added to the roster. Given that Kuro has a reputation of being generous and giving free rewards, the leaks might actually come true. We can only wait and see once version 1.1 ends on August 15.
