Stranger Things S5 Script Tease Reveals Episode 1’s Cold Opening

We finally have a solid update on Stranger Things season 5, and a script tease reveals the first moments of episode 1!

The final outing of the highly anticipated Netflix series has been heavily delayed due to the dual writers’ and actors’ strikes.

Since the WGA strike ended in September, the writers have been working hard on developing a water-tight script. However, filming can only begin when the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike is over.

The official X (formerly Twitter) account of Stranger Things shared the first two lines of the season 5 premiere, and that was enough to get us fans exhilarated!

This tweet was shared on ‘Stranger Things Day,’ corresponding to the day Will got kidnapped.

The excerpt begins with a child singing a familiar song amid the groaning trees and the chilly wind. Creepy!

The lines will likely be the cold opening for the season 5 premiere. Stranger Things is known for starting every season with a flashback, and season 5 is expected to be no different.

Considering season 4’s use of ‘Running Up That Hill,’ the child could be Max singing that as a kid.

Another possibility is baby Will singing The Clash’s ‘Should I Stay or Should I Go.’ The speculations and theories have already started taking shape, it seems!

Last year, the writers revealed that Stranger Things season 5 episode 1 will be called The Crawl.’ Fan speculation suggests that it may refer to fan-favorite Eddie Munson playing Metallica’s Master of Puppets, which contains the lyrics ‘Come crawling faster…’

So, we can see Eddie Munson playing a significant role in the last run, even after his disastrous demise the previous season.

What do you think about the reveal? Write your thoughts in the comment section down below! Ciao!

Got the rare talent to binge an entire show in a single sitting just like that. Although a sucker for psychological thrillers, no bias for any genre when it comes to a good story. A living proof that Netflix and chill is not a myth!
