Ubisoft is pulling no punches when it comes to content for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. A couple of new screenshots that have surfaced on Twitter have revealed that its upcoming DLC, Wrath of the Druids, will bring werewolves to the game’s new Irish setting.
One of the shots in Aggiornamenti Lumia’s post show male Eivor in a tussle with what seem like members of the Druid cult – who the DLC is centered on – and a ferocious, fully-formed werewolf. Additionally, we can also see a new Sickle attached to female Eivor’s belt which marks the first appearance of the weapon type in AC Valhalla.
While the werewolf seems pretty real in the screenshot, theories abound that it could be a hallucination as Eivor has been in a similar predicament before. As per The Gamer, it could be a druid trick to confuse Eivor in a fight; perhaps the green smoke in the shots could be some sort of distraction curse or charm. But real or not, Wrath of the Druids is bringing the wrath of werewolves to AC Valhalla.
Wrath of the Druids will be the first major DLC to arrive for Ubisoft’s Viking action RPG. Initially slated for April 29, the expansion’s release was recently delayed to May 13 so that it could “deliver a more refined experience.” Next on the roadmap for AC Valhalla is The Siege of Paris which will arrive this summer followed by two more free content pieces later in the year.
The Siege of Paris will take our Vikings to the warzone of Frankia where players will be able to participate in an epic battle to infiltrate Paris and overthrow its oppressive government. However, it is not clear how/if the delay of Wrath of the Druids will affect the release of this DLC.
