World Trigger, an underrated anime that has surfaced again above the giants of the recent shounen anime, after a hiatus of almost a decade.
This anime is about a city ravaged by monsters called neighbors and an organization defending the humans by using internal energy called Trion.
The second season’s release has amassed the fans again in experiencing fantastic storytelling and the fight scenes for which this anime was known. The void has now been filled for fans, with all expectations met and a bonus of incredible animation.
World Trigger has released two seasons, season 1 and season 2, with 85 episodes between them. The third season is set to release in October 2021 as a part of the Spring 2021 anime release.

Yes, you can totally skip the filler episodes, and it won’t even dent your experience in understanding the actual plot of the anime.
These 15 filler episodes are part of the Fugitive Story arc. It was initially written to be a spin-off series with characters and stories developed entirely new and original from the actual manga story.
The idea for a different spin-off series was later dropped, and it emerged altogether with the main anime series.
Anime vs. Manga
If you are looking for the most honest answer, it would be that for an anime like World Trigger, it really comes down to one’s preference whether they prefer one above the other.
The animation in season 1 of World Trigger was plain and sometimes just flat, and similarly, it can also be seen in the manga drawings. Some panels just come out flat, unlike the mangas in this genre.
Toei animation studio has done an excellent job of adapting the illustrations and the story as it is done in the manga, panel by panel.
The anime has wholly redeemed itself in season 2, with much better animation and the pacing this series truly deserves.
It all boils down to what one prefers the most, anime or manga. One can watch all the episodes, catch up with the later stories, or simply complete all the volumes and later watch the anime.

The filler episodes can be described as unnecessary at best, but with all that said, the fans and the viewers should also consider the other factors of releasing such long-fillers.
The fillers are solely done to buy some time for the manga to catch up with the pace of anime, and at the time of the airing of fillers, the anime had already caught up to the manga.
World Trigger has always been shrouded with long breaks due to the health issues of Ashihara. So it is no less than a miracle that this long-awaited anime has made a comeback and has only revamped itself in the cesspool of battle shonen.

World Trigger, also known in short form as WorTri, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Daisuke Ashihara. It was initially serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from February 2013 to November 2018 and later transferred to Jump Square in December 2018.
