5. Chapter 230 Recap
As the final day of battle simulation exercises begins, the Suwa Squad divides their team into mini squads composed of diverse units. Their opponent in the first match was Kakizaki’s Squad 3.
The first three turns of the match saw both squads taking potshots and sniping at each other from either side of the central road.
The first real skirmish came on turn four as all the mini squads unveiled their coordinated strategies, and according to plan, they took a two-unit lead. Mikumo’s unit was also withstanding a lot more attacks than before.
Then on turn 5, the Suwa squad expanded to a four-unit difference, but on the final turn, Kageura’s units evaded Suwa squad attacks over and over, and they fell one step short of the five-unit lead to win and the four-unit difference to draw.
Suwa Squad begins to discuss Kageura’s high evasion stat after the match, as well as how difficult he is to catch. In match 2, which was against Kitazoe’s squad 4.
The starting formation looked similar to yesterday, as claimed by Osamu, so they expected those explosive shorts to start raining down. In the first round, the enemy took their position on roofs and began bombarding the central road on turn 2.
The new formation of the Suwa squad was complicated but easy to maneuver, and Oki kept a watch on the enemy’s sniper. As the Suwa squad charges on turn 3, they are met with a hail of grenades, which blows up Katori’s mini squad, Mikumo’s mini squad, and Suwa’s mini squad.
The massive lead the opponent secured before the turn proved fatal, and it was a brutal loss with an eleven-unit difference. After the match, Osamu claims that they read our moves, or rather lured us into making those moves in order to trap them.
Disheartened by the loss, the Suwa squad remained optimistic as it was only the second match, which left plenty of chances to rack up the wins.
