On Tuesday, 12th May, Shueisha announced that Kotaro Shono’s World’s End Harem Sci-fi manga is going to get a television anime that will premiere in 2021. Shono even posted illustrations to celebrate the good news:
On Sunday, the 82nd chapter of the manga teased an important announcement to be made on Wednesday to mark the 4th Anniversary of the manga. The 11th volume of the manga will also be released on the same day. With its 82nd chapter, the manga entered the climax of its first part.
The manga debuted in May 2016 on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ website and app. The manga is being released in English by Seven Seas’ Ghost Ship. It describes the story line as:
“The Man-Killer Virus: a lethal disease that has eradicated 99.9% of the world’s male population. Mizuhara Reito has been in cryogenic sleep for the past five years, leaving behind Tachibana Erisa, the girl of his dreams. When Reito awakens from the deep freeze, he emerges into a sex-crazed new world where he himself is the planet’s most precious resource. Reito and four other male studs are given lives of luxury and one simple mission: repopulate the world by impregnating as many women as possible! All Reito wants, however, is to find his beloved Erisa who went missing three years ago. Can Reito resist temptation and find his one true love?”
The eighth volume was released by Ghost Ship on 31st March.
In 2018 a fantasy setting spinoff titled World’s End Harem: Fantasia by LINK and SAVAN was debuted, which runs in Shueisha’s Ultra Jump magazine and the Young Jump! App. This manga’s 4th compiled book volume was published on 4th January, and Seven Seas’ Ghost Ship imprint is again handling its English version. The second volume was released on 25th February.
Now another spinoff of the World’s End Harem: Fantasia, titled World’s End Harem: Fantasia Academy, is slated to be launched by Okada Ando in Ultra Jump on 19th May.
