Bandai Namco Filmworks announced in a livestream that its World Dai Star multimedia project would receive a television anime adaptation next spring and a game app launching next summer.
The anime’s story takes place in a world where Dai Star stage performers grew in worldwide popularity in the 20th century. The protagonist, 16-year-old Kokona Ōtori follows her dream of becoming a World Dai Starby auditioning for the Sirius theatrical troupe.
When auditioning for the troupe, Kokona meets a group of people with sparkling talent, determination, and passion for the stage. She wishes to be a part of this group and explore her talent and passion.

The original story for the anime has been drafted by manga creator Takahiro, with Mika Pikazo in charge of character design. Yū Kinome is directing the anime at Lerche Studio. Yasuhiro Nakanishi is handling the series composition.
Takahiro first launched the manga the anime is based on, the HINOWA ga YUKU! manga, in Square Enix’s Monthly Big Gangan magazine in June 2017. The manga series ended on June 24.
About World Dai Star
World Dai Star is an upcoming ‘theater girls’ project planned for a 2023 release. The original story has been written by Takahiro, with Mika Pikazo as the character designer for the project. It includes an anime series, a game, and an online manga.
In a world where Dai Star stage performers became widely popular in the 20th century, Kokona Otori is a 16-year-old girl who aspires to be a World Dai Star. She auditions to join Sirius, a theatrical troupe.
