Jessica Gao, creator of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law teased the appearance of the popular MCU character, Wong in Episode 4 of the series. Gao said that the episode may become a fan favorite because of Wong’s appearance.
The latest Disney+ MCU show follows Jennifer Walters, the attorney cousin of Bruce Banner. When Bruce’s blood enters Jennifer’s system during a car accident, she turns into She-Hulk. Now, Jennifer must balance her career as a lawyer and her newfound identity.
Wong is one of the few characters who are confirmed to make an appearance in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Wong first appeared in 2016’s Doctor Strange as a friend and mentor to the titular superhero. He was played by Benedict Wong.
After Strange disappears due to Thanos’ snap in Infinity War, Wong took his place as Sorcerer Supreme. He has since retained that title, through the events of No Way Home and Multiverse of Madness.
In a recent interview with Geeks of Color, Jessica Gao was asked if she had a particular favorite episode from the series. Gao responded that she thinks the upcoming Episode 4 will become a quick fan favorite, as it will feature Wong.
Check out her statement below.
Oh, there’s so many episodes. I mean, I loved all the episodes, and there’s so many really special ones. I mean, Episode 4, I think, is gonna be a fan favorite of everybody’s, just because, you know, we get to see Wong in such a new light, but we also get to pair him with probably I think the best pairing in the entire MCU. There’s some upcoming episodes that feel kind of like bottle-ish episodes, where you really kind of focus on this one story, and we deal with things that you just haven’t seen any superheroes deal with, that feel very human and part of normal life that I’m very excited to show. I love that we get to kind of go into areas of regular human life, but with the superhero because we actually have the space to do that, as opposed to the movies, where it’s always about saving the universe, you know.
Gao has previously discussed Wong’s role in the series, explaining that the series will see Wong and his life in a completely new light. He will also share screen space with Madisynn, a drunken victim of magic in the series.
Gao also called Wong her favorite character in the MCU, so the anticipation for Wong’s return in She-Hulk Episode 4 is huge.
Apart from Wong, She-Hulk will also feature various other MCU characters, including Tim Roth’s Emil Blonsky aka Abomination and Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock aka Daredevil. While these appearances seem exciting too, it seems like the creator of She-Hulk has a special soft spot for Wong.
Hopefully, fans end up loving Wong’s character and role in the series as much.
