A while back Valorant announced its console beta, beginning from June 14th. It was rolled out for Xbox and PlayStation in select regions. Although players expected it to last for a month, it has been well over six weeks and the Limited Console Beta continues to rage on. Sadly, there’ll be a few temporary changes from here on.
Riot Games has announced that they are shutting down the ranked and competitive queues for Valorant Console Beta. It’s only for a few days and players’ ranks will be reset. The downtime is being used to update certain offerings such as Valorant Premier.

Competitive & Ranked Mode
Competitive queue in Valorant Console Beta went live on June 25th after Patch 9.00. Since then, players have been grinding to rise up ranks. Hence, many were disappointed with this recent development.
Competitive queues on PC and console went down on July 30th at 6 AM PT. While offline, Valorant updated its offerings like Valorant Premier and more. Ranked queue was back online only an hour later for PC players.
However, console players will have to wait until August 2nd, 9 AM PT for competitive mode. This is just an approximation. Any issue faced by the team over at Riot Games could further delay the relaunch.
Rank Reset
The rank reset on Valorant Console Beta was solely due to what the team observed during the test. There was also a sudden influx of players after the beta went open. Icebox was also added to ranked play, causing a significant shift in overall performance.
Riot Games is yet to explain why the downtime for console players is longer than their counterparts on PC.
Gamers can still play Unrated, Swift Play, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and customs on Xbox and Playstation.
