Warwick Davis Returns as Willow in New Disney+ Series

A new clip from the upcoming Disney+ series, Willow, sees Warwick Davis return as the titular dwarf hero and his reunion with Queen Shorsha’s child.

The upcoming Disney+ series is a sequel to the 1988 fantasy drama film of the same name. Warwick Davis returns as the titular Nelwyn dwarf, Willow, who hopes to become a sorcerer. The original film focuses on Willow as he goes on a quest to deliver a mysterious, unclaimed child.

He finds the baby, Elora Donan in his village and decides to deliver her back to her people. However, Willow must face several obstacles in his path set up by Queen Bavmorda, who believes the baby will be responsible for ending her reign.

The 1-minute-10-seconds long clip introduces Queen Shorsha’s daughter, Kit, who wishes to find her younger brother, Airk. In the clip, Willow assures her that her brother is alive and is a prisoner of the Withered Crone who lives in Immemorial City across the Shattered Sea.

The clip also reveals that all the existing maps end with the Shattered Sea, and no one has yet traveled beyond the sea. However, Willow insists that it is across the Shattered Sea that they must travel to in order to save Airk.

Kit is accompanied by a number of capable allies in the clip, such as Dove, a kitchen maid, Jade, Kit’s best friend and knight, Boorman, a criminal on his quest and a scholar named Graydon.

Willow is introduced as a level-headed and confident person, quite different from his character in the original film. Since the upcoming series is set several years after the events of the original film, it makes sense that Willow is now a far more confident and secure individual.

The clip keeps a lot of things under wraps. There’s no indication regarding Elora’s whereabouts after the events of the original film. Willow also doesn’t talk much about the places that he mentions, leaving it to our imagination.

But Boorman’s reaction to Willow mentioning the Shattered Sea hints that the journey is not going to be an easy one. We will only find out on November 30, when Willow premieres on Disney+.
