Back in September 2020, Netflix announced the teaser of season 4 of Baki that will air under the name of Baki: Son of Ogre, and since then, I have almost turned into a skeleton from waiting for the trailer.
Fortunately, the trailer was released in July, and the Weekly Shonen Champion Jump confirmed that the anime would air in the Fall of 2021.
By the looks of it, the animation and visual quality of the fourth season has upgraded to the utmost quality. I couldn’t be happier than this. The characters are drawn so sharp that they might through the screen (I’m not complaining)
After the thrilling ending of season 3, Baki is back to training for the showdown between him and Yujiro. But hold your horses’ guys Baki still has to pass trails to battle the final boss. And by trials, I mean huge bolder like a prehistoric man.
In the upcoming season of Baki: Son of Ogre, we will meet some familiar faces with amplified strength and some new faces like Pickle with unimaginable skills and abilities.
Who Are the Upcoming Characters in Season 4?
Finally, after a long wait, we have some insight into what exactly will happen in this upcoming season.
Presumably, this season will be covering three major arcs, namely— Combat Shadow Fighting, which is the first Saga of the official Hanma Baki manga series, Great Prison Battle Saga, and Wildman War- Pickle War Saga.
But the question is, who are the possible characters that will be introduced this season?
In order to train harder than he ever did, Baki intentionally commits a crime to fight with Biscuit Oliva in prison. Lastly, we will be introduced to Pickle. Up until now, Baki has fought some formidable opponents (apes included), but now he will be fighting prehistoric people.
Baki Hanma
While other shonen protagonists win due to the power of friendship, my man Baki overpowers by the power of imagination. You will see Baki go complete mission impossible mode in the second half of the season.
If it was not apparent from the trailer, let me tell you Baki has grown even more muscles, and he is using each one to his advantage by mastering different forms of martial arts. He is using new skills like 0.5 Second to counter-attack stronger opponents.
Yujiro Hanma
It is a fact that Yujiro Hanma is the Strongest Creature on Earth, and up until now, his status has been a constant. Like always, you will find him flexing his skills; if I were him, I would do the same as he has mastered all possible forms of martial arts.
His power is literally and figuratively destructive, and he will keep growing even in the upcoming season. Unfortunately, we might not see Baki vs. Yujiro fight that happens right after Pickle War Saga, but every patient minute will be worth the while.
Pickle
The primary opponent for this season is Pickle. He is million years old as he was preserved in a saline rock formation. Life is not easy for a prehistoric man woken up in modern times who functions mainly on instincts.
As his fighting form is animalistic, predicting his next steps is extremely difficult.
Pickle belongs to the time where dinosaurs existed; he survived by fighting dinosaurs. Fighting would be an understatement as he has definitely defeated dinosaurs and possibly munched on them just like he chews on humans.
He fights with his brute force, but after slowly adjusting to the modern era, he learns other martial arts forms. In season 4, we might also see other characters like Kaiou Retsu, Jack Hanma, Musashi Miyamoto, and Baki battling Pickle.
Jack Hanma
What will happen when two animalistic guys fight in the arena- they share a deep kiss; of course, Jack and Pickle do the same.
This season in Jack vs. Pickle fight, you will find some gay moments and some cannibalistic moments; there is no in-between Pickle ate half of Jack’s face, but regardless, the battle was interesting, I would say.
Jack was already stronger than a beast on steroids, but Pickle would have died if it were not for his caveman instincts due to Jack’s fighting style.
Musashi Miyamoto
Since we were falling short on men resurrected from history, we have a Brand new character following the Pickle War arc. Musashi Miyamoto was initially Japan’s most renowned legend and greatest swordsman.
Later in the manga, he is resurrected through cloning and soul transfer. He is a battlefield genius, and his abilities exceed the boundaries of what one would consider normal.
It is believed that Musashi can fight on par with Yujiro in his Demon Back. He uses swords to defeat his enemies. He also uses his hands to flip people and cut them.
Biscuit Oliva
Biscuit Oliva is another character that will play a significant role in season 4. Although he will be nerfed in the upcoming episodes, we all have to agree Oliva is something else. Oliva has been respected throughout the USA as he is responsible for getting rid of criminals in Arizona State Prison.
His punches are so hard that the GPS of the world was shaken up and even started to malfunction. Sometimes I forget that he is human because of his insane recovery speed. Eating steak healed his shotgun pellets scars.
Kaoru Hanayama
Remember the Strongest Yakuza dude? Kaoru will get a major power boost. As per his current power level, he is capable enough to stop Pickle’s attack.
In the latter half, he will get to a point where his full power punch will make Yujiro bleed and defend attacks from Musashi. It is hinted that Hanayama will stand an equal chance in defeating Musashi.
Katsumi Orochi
You might remember him from Part 1; Katsumi is Doppo Orochi’s adopted son. He has used up all his blood, sweat, and tears to impress his father.
Despite his arrogance, Katsumi is a prodigy. He will also get a massive power boost when he battles Pickle. His punches hold the power to shatter the sound barrier completely.
Dinosaurs
Forget everyone in the series. I’m telling you the main character this season are the Dinosaurs. They will be at least referred in every third episode.
The context doesn’t matter whether it’s Pickle killing them and eating them or Baki creating new techniques like Triceratops Fist, Dinosaurs will be ruling this season.
