Season 5 of Cobra Kai ended on a cliffhanger just like its previous season, and the only question on people’s minds is, Will there be Cobra Kai Season 6? With Kreese out of prison, Terry arrested, and Johnny and Carmen expecting a baby, too many things are happening.
All these loose threads need to be tied properly, but there’s one more significant thing we need to remember: The Sekai Taikai International Tournament. This was mentioned in the fifth season, and there can’t be anything better than reliving the tournament experience. But for all this and more, we need to know if Cobra Kai will have a Season 6.
Season 6 of Cobra Kai hasn’t been officially announced yet. However, the creators have discussed plans for a sixth season and also described where the different character arcs could go from this point.
Season 5 ended with Chozen, Johnny Lawrence, and Daniel LaRusso fighting with Silver, and both Chozen and Lawrence getting injured. Chozen got slashed by a sword, but he made it out alive.
With Miguel and Samantha back together, things seem like a happy ending, but they aren’t. The dark shadow of Kreese looms over the valley and he looks more dangerous than ever. He managed to fake his death and escape from the hospital right through the front door, which makes him think he’s invincible.
Although there’s no official announcement for Season 6, it seems inevitable. After all, we all want to know what Kreese will do next and if there will be any villains from the original Karate Kid series reprising their roles.
While discussing plans for the next season with Variety, the creators, Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg, shared quite a few plot points. These were about the different characters and how their arcs ended in Season 5.
To begin with, Kreese will likely return and play a significant role in the next season. However, we don’t know if he’ll be the main villain of Season 6. Johnny is going to enter the next stage of his relationship with Carmen, Robby, and Miguel because he’s having a baby with Miguel’s mother.
Besides this, the creators also mentioned how Sekai Taikai would play an important role if Season 6 happens. The kids are now more skilled in their craft than ever, so it is only fair that their opponents go toe-to-toe with them.
In fact, Schlossberg even equated this evolution to the Rocky series, where Balboa fought with opponents from countries like Russia. This would be pretty interesting because it would be the first time the kids are stepping out of the valley, which they consider their home.
Above all, we still need to know what the kids who left Silver’s dojo do now. The finale exposed Terry and his lies, and all his students felt cheated and unworthy. Now the question is, will all the students unite under one roof, will there be a conflict between them, or will a conflict arise after they have reunited?
For all these questions to be answered and to see where the characters move forward from here, we’ll have to wait for Season 6. Here’s to hoping that Netflix makes the official announcement soon.
