DC League of Super-Pets has received largely positive reviews so far, so it’s time for us to talk about what’s next. The post-credits scene subtly sets up prospects of a sequel, so it’s not wrong for us to get our hopes up, is it?
The animated film, narrated from the perspective of various pets, follows Krypto, Superman’s loyal pet dog, who faces a new challenge when the Justice League is kidnapped by the evil guinea-pig, Lulu.
The movie is narrated from the perspective of Krypto (voiced by Dwayne Johnson), the boxer Ace (Kevin Hart) and other domestic animals who help in stopping Lulu. It’s a heart-warming film that tells the story of animals and their friendship and loyalty toward humans, so we can only hope we get to see more of Krypto and his gang.
As of writing this article, DC has not officially announced a sequel to DC League of Super-Pets. All things considered, it may or may not happen. But since the first film has largely opened to positive reviews, there’s a high chance of a sequel happening.
Dwayne Johnson and his production house, Seven Bucks Productions, is already developing a close relationship with DC Films. So, there is a good chance of DC Films greenlighting a sequel to DC League of Super-Pets real soon.
The director, Jared Stern, has already hinted at potential ideas for Super-Pets 2, so it’s only a matter of time before it becomes official. Besides, the film also sets up the scope for a sequel pretty well with its post-credit scenes.
In the first post-credit scene, Mercy Graves finds Lulu in a hot dog stand after being defeated by the Super-Pets. The two end up joining forces. In the second one, Black Adam and his dog meet Superman and Krypto in the park.
The second scene is definitely a tease for Dwayne Johnson’s next DC movie, Black Adam. But apart from that, it also hints at Black Adam and his dog being a part of Super-Pets 2, where they can return as villains along with Lulu and Mercy Graves.
If the sequel happens, we can definitely expect Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart to return as voice actors for Krypto and Ace respectively. Going by the post-credit scenes, we can expect Lulu to return as well.
As of now, we can only wait for DC Films to officially announce DC League of Super-Pets 2.
