Stranger Things Season 4 was set to release in 2021, but due to the pandemic, it got pushed. The shooting was postponed, and the fans couldn’t help but still wonder when the show’s fourth season will release. After all, we all want to see Eleven wreak havoc with her telekinetic powers! However, everyone was also wondering if this season will be the final season?
One of the biggest cliffhangers in Stranger Things Season 3 was Hopper’s death (or so we thought!). Eleven had formed a bond with her father, and Joyce had begun to have feelings for him too. And honestly, anyone would form a bond with a man who’s ready to sacrifice himself for the people he loves most.
Jim Hopper defeats the Russian assassin, and Joyce shuts the upside down with the explosive key, thus leading to Jim’s death (Don’t worry, he’s coming back!) It was emotional for all of us because Joyce took custody of El, and she was ready to start a new life outside Hawkins. This meant that the friends’ group will now be separating, and Mike and El’s love story would have to end on a bittersweet note.
But just like the previous seasons, we’re greeted with an end-credits scene. A facility that looks a lot like a prison in Russia houses our unkillable man – Jim Hopper, thus promising us a new season! (As I said, he’s coming back!)
So will Stranger Things Season 4 be the last season?
Stranger Things Season 4 will NOT be the last season but will set up the ending. Originally the Duffer Brothers decided to end with four seasons but now have decided that there’s more to this story.
I know, it’s a pleasant surprise for me too! A couple of years back, when Stranger Things makers The Duffer Brothers said they would be wrapping the show with four seasons. This was simply because the kids would have grown up by then, and they’ll move on to college. Moreover, it wouldn’t make sense to have something terrible happen to the kids once every year.
And since then, a lot has changed. Thanks to the pandemic too!
Last year in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Duffer brothers said that season 4 would not be the last one. The pandemic gave them the time to look ahead and realize how long they need to tell this story. They know what the end is going to be and when it is.
Well, it’s safe to say that we’re not going to be done with this show any time soon, and season 4 is not going to be the end. I bet you’re all glad to know this! Well, join the club ‘cause I am too.
Speaking of Season 4, we’ve seen a teaser and a trailer, and I bet there are a few things to talk about!
Season 4 Trailer
So, before we talk about the trailer, a little about what the Duffer Brothers had in mind while creating season 3. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, they said they wanted season 3 to feel different and give it an all-out summer blockbuster feel. Hence there was more action in season 3 and definitely more humor.
In fact, if you see throughout season 3, the color schemes used are much brighter and more vibrant when compared to the previous two seasons.
Season 4 looks closer to the all-out big blockbuster than any of the previous seasons. The trailer starts with a sad tone as the Buyers depart with El but takes a sharp turn towards the vast Russian facility covered in heaps of snow.
Jim Hopper is perhaps one of the captives working here, and we see a mammoth blue enclosure which could be the entrance to the Upside Down. Maybe this is where it all began. The Mindflayer is no more a concern ‘cause the biggest monster has just made an appearance. The trailer promises a larger-than-life season 4 with stakes as high as they can get. Well, I hope season 4 is worth the wait!
The show is set to release in the first quarter of 2022, and I hope there are no more delays! Maybe you can rewatch the previous seasons just to brush up your memory and watch El in action ‘cause it’s been a long, long time!
