Heels first season just got over, but I still can’t get over this fantastic piece of drama. The relationships, problems, and challenges depicted in the story are so realistic that I was invested in it all right from the beginning. In the season finale, not only did Jack and Ace’s relationship took a hit, Jack even seems to have messed up his marriage with Staci.
Jack’s wife, Staci, is a beautiful singer who has chosen to be a homemaker and take care of their son so that Jack can build his pro-wrestling league, DWL. Her character seems to have so many layers that we only get a tiny glimpse of in season one.
Although she’s happy, she doesn’t like how Jack obsesses over the league, treats his brother, and how the family needs to get their finances to survive.
But, with everything going sideways, even Staci seemed to have had enough of Jack’s behavior and decides to stay at her friend’s place while Jack worked things out and became a better person that both she and her son needed.
So, will Staci and Jack make up in Heels?
Jack and Staci are likely to resolve their issues in Heels season 2 (if renewed). In season 1, Jack was solely focused on the DWL, and its success, neglected his family, Ace, and even did a few things wrong. Now that DWL is finally successful, Jack will have time to focus on himself, his family and even become a better person, which is exactly what Staci wants.
Staci’s biggest complaint from Jack was that he wasn’t just putting the family’s financial stability on the line with the DWL. He was also putting his relationships on the line. She didn’t like how the DWL brought a different side to him, which was pretty insensitive and shrewd.
She has tried to convey this to Jack throughout the season. As things started piling up, it all culminated when Jack went down to Jackson to ‘save’ Ace. However, his intention was also to put down Gully once and for all.
This can be debatable and how it’s all just interconnected, and how Jack is the good guy here. But Jack isn’t entirely good. His intentions might be a little bit of black and white. For instance, he bought the toilet paper rolls for the audience the night he unexpectedly defeated Ace and let him be humiliated by the audience.
When Staci came to know this, she had lost faith in Jack being a good person and decided to take her son to a friend’s place.
Before the much anticipated DWL fair, she asks Jack to come clean with Ace, stop ignoring his family, and become the good person he truly is.
As an audience, I couldn’t help but affirm Staci’s POV. Putting aside all my biases towards Stephen Amell and his impeccable performance, Jack as a character is flawed. In some ways, he is his father who doesn’t listen to anybody and, as a result, just annoys everyone.
He even knocked away the chance Ace had to go and wrestle in the bigger leagues. But to Jack, this seemed a justified action because Ace’s insecurities would’ve led him to alcoholism and drugs. At least, that’s what he says to convince himself that he did the right thing.

In the end, even he somewhere realizes that he should stop lying to himself, and it is Staci who gives him that nudge. He confesses to Ace in the middle of their main event, and they have a massive fallout.
Nevertheless, it’s a step towards progress. To sort this out, Staci intervenes, and he lets her become the champion and the new Face of the DWL. That is another step of progress, considering he didn’t let Crystal have the opportunities she so deserved until that moment.

If there’s a season 2, and I hope there is, I think Jack’s character would become more introspective and less controlling, which will lead him to correct his mistakes. Yes, his relationship with Ace might not be mendable, but with Staci, it isn’t so, and it is likely that the two patch up and get back together.
