1. Will Okarun ever get his family jewels back in Dandadan? How?
In Dandadan, Okarun’s lost “family jewels” will be returned to him when Momo and Okarun decide to attack Turbo Granny. Turbo Granny takes her power back, not to give them any advantages against her.
Okarun makes another deal with Granny to save Momo and loses them again. But in Chapter 165 of the manga, Okarun gets his family jewels back after defeating the fairy-tale yokai, which signaled the end of his deal with Turbo Granny.
Okarun finally retrieves his second “family jewel” after a tough battle against the Fairy-Tale Card yokai. This victory marks a significant turning point for Okarun, ending his deal with Turbo Granny.
For a long time, Okarun had been relying on her spiritual power, which allowed him to transform and harness her strength. Okarun’s turbo transformation has been touted as the best among Shonen Jump’s many series.
He fulfills part of the agreement with both his jewels recovered by returning Turbo Granny’s powers. Although initially enemies, Turbo Granny loses the hostility towards them and becomes an ally who gives them the majority of their firepower.
Okarun ability to tap into incredible abilities with her curse (or is it a blessing?), he agrees to part ways with Granny when she leaves, knowing their deal is complete.
Turbo Granny’s departure is a bittersweet moment for Okarun and the group. She was their first major foe; her powers have been instrumental in getting them through some of their toughest supernatural battles.
Okarun’s inability to transform raises new challenges, as he’s now left without much use as their foremost combatant. How the Momo Cushion gang will continue to face threats in the future is a big question mark.
2. How did Okarun lose his family jewels?
Okarun and his missing family jewels have been a central plot point since his first encounter with the infamous Turbo Granny (who always wants your schlong).
The unfortunate event begins with Ken Takakura, “Okarun”, challenging Momo to prove the existence of UFOs. In return, Momo dares him to prove ghosts do not exist by entering a haunted tunnel.
While exploring the tunnel, a very scared Okarun encounters the Turbo Granny, a notorious spirit. Despite escaping, he gets cursed, losing his family jewels to her.
Okarun’s journey forward is filled with supernatural encounters and a budding relationship with Momo Ayase. Together, they face multiple challenges while trying to rid Okarun of his curse and return his manhood and pride to him.
3. About Dandadan
‘Dandadan’ is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yukinobu Tatsu. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Shōnen Jump+ service since April 2021. An anime television series adaptation produced by Science Saru is set to premiere in 2024.
Momo Ayase is a high school student who believes in ghosts, but her classmate Okarun believes in aliens instead. To determine who is correct, they make a bet and decide to visit locations associated with both the occult and the supernatural separately.
Ayase visits places related to ghosts, while Okarun visits sites about aliens. When they reach their respective areas, they discover they are only half-right. It turns out that both aliens and ghosts exist.
