A mysterious announcement on October 27, 2022, has sparked new conversations. The official site of Naruto revealed that a vital set of information regarding the anime will be released during Jump Fiesta 2023.
This announcement will take place on December 17, 2022, from 3:35 to 4:15 pm JST. Many people are expecting a new anime or a movie release following Naruto’s 20th anniversary.
However, we can only speculate and assume the possibilities until the official announcement is made. Let’s go through the most likely possibilities and if we can expect a new anime or movie.
The new Naruto anime or movie announcements are only speculations at this point, it is not official. The official statement would be released on December 17, 2022, at Jump Festa. The most likely possibility would be a Sasuke Restuden anime adaptation.
Will it be a Remaster?
For Naruto’s 20th anniversary, a 10-minute newly animated remaster was released highlighting all the epic scenes of Naruto. It was stunning, breathtaking and nostalgic.
Studio Pierrot seems to be killing in the animation zone recently with Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War Arc and then this.
The 10-minute video had it all, the favourite fights, the saddest moments and all of the ultra hype moments. It was simply phenomenal, almost like reliving 10 years of anime in 10 minutes.
And this release sparked a lot of conversations and a lot of us have been wondering if we are going to receive Naruto with a completely different animation.
Many of us are expecting to watch the Naruto remaster with absolutely no filler and just pure Naruto goodness. But I believe that this is highly impossible.
Naruto holds a special place for Studio Pierrot as one of its most successful projects. It is highly possible that Studio Pierrot just wanted to pay a proper homage and is not heading towards a remake.
Why is Sasuke Retsuden the most likely possibility?
Sasuke Restuden’s anime adaptation might be the most plausible considering the growing popularity of the manga and also the timeline. It falls under the Boruto timeline and it would make a great addition.
Restuden is the most popular translated manga at this point and this may be due to Sasuke’s growing popularity as a character. It is safe to say that Restuden, at this point, is more popular than Boruto.
Other Possibilities?
The other likely possibilities include a Boruto Movie or a Naruto spinoff. It is highly unlikely that Naruto will receive a spinoff, however, the Boruto movie seems more plausible.
Since Boruto is now mainly focusing on the filler, having run out of source material, the movie seems less likely than Sasuke Retsuden.
