Spider-Man: No Way Home has just hit theatres, and anticipation for the next Spidey chapter has already begun. Sadly, Marvel’s Spider-Man trilogy writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers don’t have the answers yet.
It isn’t about having no liberty to discuss the details, the writers say, but rather that they aren’t yet privy to any information — including if a new Spider-Man film is in the works.
That doesn’t mean they [future Spider-Man films] don’t exist, but that’s nothing that you know anyone has talked to Chris and I about. I certainly hope so. I love Tom as Spider-Man. I hope there’s more, and I would love nothing more than to be involved. But at this point, we don’t know.

Confirmation of a new Spider-Man trilogy, carrying forward the Marvel-Sony collaboration, came from filmmaker Amy Pascal herself in late November.
Pascal was instrumental in getting Spidey to the Marvel side of things. While the new trilogy has not been officially announced, one can be assured of her commitment of getting it done.
Another thing that Pascal is very keen on is having Tom Holland reprise his role.
I, for one, am really interested to see how Tom’s Peter will navigate this new chapter in his life. It’s been a joyride to see him grow up in all his MCU appearances, and any films hereafter will surely acquaint us with an adult version of Peter.
(Also, the possibility of seeing Peter finally reunite with MJ and Ned already brings me to tears.)
But NWH was already written keeping in mind that this may be Marvel’s last Spider-Man movie. NWH has made it easy to close Holland’s chapter and explore fresher versions of the web slinger’s story.
In fact, Holland himself has expressed some hesitation about reprising the role, wanting to give a chance to other actors who would also do justice to Spider-Man. As such, a live-action of Miles Morales or Spider-Woman would also make sense.
Since McKenna and Sommer helmed all three of Marvel’s Spider-Man movies, it is only expected that any films going forward would also have their involvement.
Still, if the writers are to be believed about their current lack of knowledge, it’s understandable — After all, it is too early to get started on Spider-Man, and we should allow the creative team to bask in the success of No Way Home.
In the meantime, why not go watch Spider-Man NWH one more time? You know it’s worth it.
