Will Glorio betray Goku in Dragon Ball DAIMA?

The character Glorio was introduced in the second episode of Dragon Ball DAIMA, and for someone who came to request for help, he did seem more than just suspicious from the get-go. This may be because he seemed to possess too much attitude for someone requesting help. This isn’t it, though, as Shin had other reasons to suspect him.

Shin called it in the beginning, and now, in episode 6 of Dragon Ball DAIMA, it was confirmed that Glorio had ulterior motives. Here’s everything you need to know about Glorio and why he isn’t trustable.

Who Is Glorio?

Glorio is a character that was first introduced in the second episode of Dragon Ball DAIMA. He is blue-skinned with white spiky hair and green eyes. His visit to Earth was to request Goku to come to the demon world to defeat King Gomah, who was a tyrant in the demon world.

Glorio originates from the third demon world but relocated to the first demon world after getting recruited by an “important person”. He primarily uses a gun for attacks, but he is also capable of using magic that manipulates purple-colored lightning.

He’s quite tight-lipped and doesn’t talk much unless it’s necessary. His blunt speech patterns and stoic expression contribute to his unapproachability. His actions don’t make him seem to be a nice person, either.

Why Did Shin Start Suspecting Glorio?

Glorio’s sudden appearance in the second episode of Dragon Ball DAIMA was the first thing that made Shin question Glorio’s authenticity. This was because he came to Goku because he knew that Goku had defeated Majin Buu and was a capable warrior, but he showed no shock on seeing that such a strong warrior was a child.

This gave off the impression that Glorio actually knew that King Gomah had transformed all of them into children. If he already got info that Goku was transformed into a child, then his reaching Earth was far too quick. This suggests that Glorio knew something more, but the fact that he chose not to disclose the information he has contributes to the suspicion even more.

The second major incident that made Shin lose his trust even more, was the fact that the king of the second demon world did not even know who Goku was or that Goku was the hero being brought to the demon world to defeat Gomah. This pointed to the fact that it wasn’t the king of that demon world that informed Glorio about Goku’s child form. With this, it was confirmed that Glorio had an unknown information provider and that he was hiding something.

Who Is Glorio Colluding With?

In the sixth episode of Dragon Ball DAIMA, it was revealed that Glorio was in contact with Arinsu, a very powerful and influential demon from the first demon world. She is probably the woman who had Glorio move to the first demon world in order to work for her.

Arinsu is in fact Shin’s elder sister, who was born from the same tree as Shin. He described her to be a mad scientist who chose to stay in the demon world and abandoned her race just because she found the demon world to be more exhilarating.

It was confirmed that Glorio was scheming with Arinsu as we got to see Glorio sneaking out of the camp to give Arinsu a status report through a communication device. Although Shin didn’t see what Glorio was doing or who he was communicating with, he did know that Glorio was sneaking around at night.

What Is Glorio’s Motive?

In the latest episode, when he was asked why he wanted to have Gomah defeated, he replied, saying that Gomah was evil and that he abused innocent demons. While this is a noble cause, Glorio lacked any kind of emotion to this motive, to the point that it seemed as if he was disconnected from it.

While they were traversing through the demon world, Goku was exploring methods to turn back to normal without having to defeat Gomah, just to know the possibilities. This was when they knew that it was possible to gather the Dragon Balls of the demon world that the Tamagami guarded. Glorio was very unconcerned that Goku considered that option, again suggesting that he didn’t really care about Gomah’s tyranny.

With the information available currently, not much can be speculated about Glorio’s motive, but it is very likely that having king Gomah defeated isn’t Glorio’s or his employer, Arinsu’s primary goal.

Will Glorio Betray Goku?

With the direction that the plot of Dragon Ball DAIMA is currently taking, the possibility that Glorio would betray Goku is pretty high. As it stands, there is much to be known about Glorio. For now, it hasn’t been confirmed that Glorio is colluding with Arinsu to do something evil. While this could very well be the case, there is also a possibility that Glorio could be an anti-hero character in this series.

It is interesting to note that although Shin is very observant and wary of Glorio, Goku doesn’t seem to care in the least. At least from the way it appears, Goku doesn’t seem to suspect Glorio at all, even though Shin had warned him to do so. A possible betrayal from Glorio would be quite unforeseen for him.

With more information to be released in the subsequent weeks about Glorio, we’ll know more about his motive and his relationship with Arinsu. We’ll be sure to cover that right when it’s revealed.
