Wilmer Valderrama on Fez’s Return to Netflix Spinoff, That ‘90s Show

Amidst all of the classic sitcoms getting new reboots recently, it was only a matter of time before That ’70s Show received one too.

And now that the spinoff, That ’90s Show, is officially in the works at Netflix, it had fans wondering whether they’d get to see some of the OG characters return as well.

Now, in a recent interview with TV Insider, actor Wilmer Valderrama has spoken about whether his character Fez from the original sitcom would return to Point Place, Wisconsin.

As the actor has his schedule packed for the year with CBS’s NCIS and ABC’s reboot of Zorro, he did not exactly promise Fez’s return but said that he would not hesitate to say yes if the timing wills it.

“I’m a little busy now, but I support them so much. I’m rooting for them. I wish them nothing but the best. If the timing is right, I’d never say no.”

Valderrama played Fez for eight whole seasons of That ’70s Show from 1998 to 2006 and quickly became a fan-favorite character throughout its run.

The upcoming spinoff, That ’90s Show, will focus on Leia Forman, Eric and Donna’s daughter.

The series will be a direct spinoff, set in 1995 in Point Place, where Leia visits her grandparents for the summer and bonds with the new generation “under the watchful eye of Kitty and the stern glare of Red.”

Callie Haverda will play Leia Forman, with new cast members including Ashley Aufderheide, Mace Coronel, Maxwell Acee Donovan, Reyn Doi, and Sam Morelos as new teen characters.

Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp will return to their roles of Red and Kitty Foreman as the grandparents of Leia.

Other cast members from the original show, including Topher Grace, Laura Prepon, Mila Kunis, and Ashton Kutcher, are currently in talks to appear in the 10-episode spinoff.

That ’90s Show is an upcoming American television period sitcom set in the 1990s for Netflix. A spinoff of That ’70s Show, the series will feature characters that debuted in the original series which aired on Fox from 1998 to 2006.

The spinoff’s cast includes Debra Jo Rupp as Kitty Forman, Kurtwood Smith as Red Forman, Callie Haverda as Leia Forman, Ashley Aufderheide as Gwen, Mace Coronel as Jay, Maxwell Acee Donovan as Nate, Reyn Doi as Ozzie, Sam Morelos as Nikki.

The show will revolve around Leia Forman, the daughter of Eric Forman and Donna Pinciotti, forming bonds with other teenagers as she spends the summer of 1995 with her grandparents, Red and Kitty in Point Place, Wisconsin.
