Can you believe it’s finally over? Attack on Titan has come to a close, and boy, what an emotional rollercoaster it’s been! I, for one, am still trying to process the fact that we had to say goodbye to Eren.
There’s been a lot of speculation about whether Eren will make a comeback, but the truth is, he won’t. I know it’s a tough pill to swallow, but that’s how the cookie crumbles.
Eren’s death was confirmed at the end of the manga. There was no chance that he was going to live forever. After his passing, the world saw peace, and the Eldia military flourished under Historia’s leadership. Mikasa, Armin, and the gang paid their respects at Eren’s final resting place.
In any case, I hope this finale has left you with a bittersweet feeling, just like it did for me. So, let’s delve into the aftermath of Eren’s death in detail, uncovering why he won’t be resurrected and exploring the changes in the world after his passing.
Will Eren come back to life?
This question has been on everyone’s mind lately. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I’m here to confirm that the answer is a big “NO.”
Eren will not return to life, as there are no hints of resurrection after his death in the finale. In an emotional farewell, Mikasa beheaded Eren and brought his head to Armin, where they mourned together.
When Mikasa visited Eren’s gravesite, the same tree where he once napped as a child, I could imagine how heavy her heart must have been and the longing she felt for his return. It’s a sad thought, but at the same time, it’s a testament to her love for him and his impact on her life.
Was Eren ever going to be immortal?
Eren could not live forever as he was a titan shifter, not a pure titan, and therefore was incapable of immortality. Only Pure Titans are considered immortal in the world of Attack on Titan, as they remain stuck in their current age until they are turned into a shifter.
In Chapter 130 of the manga, Eren claimed that he only had four years left, a harsh reminder that his time in this world would always be finite.
What happened after Eren died?
The aftermath of Eren’s death in Attack on Titan was indeed a game-changer for everyone.
After Eren’s death, the Titan race went extinct as all matter sources died, and those transformed returned to human form. A new era of peace dawned, and the world was finally free from the fear of living within walls.
Mikasa wondered if Eren was at peace and wished to see him again. The day the Rumbling ended became known as the “Battle of Heaven and Earth.”
On a positive note, the Eldian military was established under the Jeagerist banner, and Historia became the mother of a young girl. How cool is that?
Mikasa, Armin, and their friends held hope for peace as ambassadors for the Allied Nations. Everyone had a strong faith in Historia and Armin’s ability to share their stories during peace negotiations, and I think they were the perfect people for the job.
The Extra Pages in Volume 34
History repeated itself, and Eldia was at war again after Mikasa’s death. Despite Eren’s efforts, the world returned to its cruel ways, and Paradis lost peace.
The extra chapters of Attack on Titan show Paradis Island as a desolate wasteland with remnants of modern civilization overtaken by vegetation. The final image depicts a boy standing in front of a giant tree, which is the resting place of Eren’s body.
Have you noticed the striking similarity between in scene with the young boy gazing up and the original Ymir making a pact with the “Devil of the Earth”? It’s got me wondering, will this young boy become the next Ymir founder?
Speculation is brewing among fans about a possible prequel, jokingly dubbed “Beren: Shingeki the Next Generation.” But so far, there’s no official word on it. So, let’s sit tight and see if this epic saga has more surprises for us!
