Andrew Garfield has said that he has no plans to don the spandex suit to play Spider-Man again, and this time, it just might be the truth.
In an interview at the 2022 SAG Awards, Variety asked Garfield if he’ll ever play the friendly neighborhood superhero again. The 38-year-old actor gave the reporter a knowing sigh, giggled, and replied,
No plans, that’s the truth. I mean everyone’s gonna call me a liar for the rest of my life. I’m the boy who cried wolf now.

Though the interviewer replied by saying, the boy who cried “spider,” it can’t be denied that Garfield almost fooled the entire world into believing he wasn’t a part of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Garfield expertly dodged media questions—whether live or prerecorded—multiple times, continuously about him reprising his role of Spider-Man in the multiverse movie.
While The Amazing Spider-Man actor still had to promote his other releases (Tick, Tick… BOOM! and The Eyes of Tammy Faye), he came up with various creative ways to keep Marvel’s secret.
The pre, during, and post-premiere buzz around No Way Home brought up the buried topic of Garfield’s The Amazing Spider-Man cut off after its second installment.
The OG Peter, Tobey Maguire, and the newest Peter, Holland, got to complete their holy trinities, unlike Garfield’s The Amazing Spider-Man.
Previously with Variety, the actor also talked about how the No Way Home feature gave him a chance to tie some loose ends for his Peter.
There was so many unanswered questions for my Peter, where we left it. I got to step back in and get some healing for him.

The Tony Award-winning actor’s return in spandex had him trending for days on Twitter, with fans demanding the much-ignored third installment.
Funnily enough, Garfield believes he is “too old” to play Spider-Man now but did share that he would be “definitely open to something if it felt right,” when asked if he’d don the Spider-Man suit in another movie.
With Marvel, possibilities remain endless. Moreover, with Garfield and Maguire’s Peters entering the MCU, fans may just hope to see Garfield’s Peter again.
