Jujutsu Kaisen had it’s upcoming chapter leaked recently. With the finale now out, two things were basically confirmed: Gojo did not return, and the series will not get a second part (contrary to some speculations). Although the last chapter ended rather peacefully, fans still aren’t satisfied enough for a multitude of reasons.
On close inspection of the manga, a few plot holes made by Gege are quite apparent. Besides this, there were certain plotlines created that could’ve amounted to something interesting but were discarded partway. Several characters weren’t treated justly as well. This article will go into all the details of these flaws.
The Yuuji-Sukuna Battle Was Rigged
Most of the fights in the Shinjuku Showdown were good… until it came to the point were Yuuji fought Sukuna solo. While Yuuji being able to use Sukuna’s techniques was a kind of a cheat, it did have a proper explanation: Sukuna’s possession of Yuuji’s body engraved the technique within him. However, Yuuji suddenly being able to use domain expansion was completely unaccounted for.
Itadori’s domain only showed some sceneries in Yuuji’s head and nothing more than that. The nature of his domain, its name, and nothing of the like was revealed. Sukuna’s last battle with Yuuji in the domain also ended way too quickly, almost as if Gege gave Yuuji a domain expansion as a cheat.
Megumi and Nobara Weren’t Done Justice
Megumi is one of the fan favorites. The mysterious aura that he gave off and his “hidden potential” that Sukuna and Gojo spoke of had fans fully hooked. However, after the culling game arc, Megumi’s body was taken over, and we saw no more of him. Megumi’s character showed development throughout the series. One of the characters with the greatest “potential” never got to shine, and his fully completed domain was never revealed.
Similarly, Nobara too completely disappeared after the Shibuya Incident. She, too, bore no character development. Furthermore, no explanation was given as to why she suddenly came back to life.
The Strongest Sorcerer Was Mistreated
After Gojo’s death at the beginning of the Shinjuku Showndown arc, everyone hoped for his return. However, fans were given hope, and all they got to see was a zombie: Yuuta in Gojo’s body. After this, just when fans came to terms with his death, Gege provided us with hope again. Only to not even acknowledge or mourn his death, let alone revive him.
In the end, Gojo died merely as the “strongest human” and not a human.
Other Plot Holes
Besides all of this, there are other issues that the manga had. Firstly, when Kenjaku was defeated, he told Yuuta that he had a successor of sorts. There was no progress in that plotline. Kenjaku’s meeting with officials of foreign countries also bore no fruit.
Sukuna did not get a backstory. The villain’s past is almost always illustrated in most Shonen manga. His backstory is quite relevant considering the fact that 90% of the Shinjuku Showdown arc featured Sukuna.
Another wasteful act in the last chapters of the manga was it was seen that more importance was given to the miscellaneous characters of the culling game arc rather than the more important main characters.
When Will Chapter 271 Be Released?
Chapter 271 of Jujutsu Kaisen will be released on the 29th of September. It can be read from its official sources like MangaPlus(by Shueisha) and Shonen Jump.
