The “Mayor of Kingstown” keeps on exciting the fans with the new twists and turns in each episode. Kingstown is on the brink of boiling tensions and Mike is forced to meet a dangerous acquaintance in an attempt to calm things down in Season 1 Episode 7.
The uneasy peace that the titular “Mayor” works so hard to maintain seems at its most fragile yet.
Let’s dive into further details.
What does Milo want Mike to do?
Episode 7 opens with the investigation of the missing FBI agent, whose partner is found dead in Mike’s office. Since there is no sign of the agent or Iris, Mike is forced to visit Milo in prison.
Despite the powerbroker’s threats, the incarcerated Milo orders Mike to retrieve another package for him once again. When asked about Iris, Milo says that she’s gone back to work and that it would be fruitless for anyone to try and look for her now.
Milo initially asked Mike to meet him in a park across the street from the prison. At the park, Milo’s other minion, Candance, approached Mike and arranged a video call with him. Milo wanted another favor from Mike, which Mike bluntly refused.
However, Milo wasn’t in the mood for games this time, and hence, he threatened Mike that his refusal would have consequences. Milo warned Mike that he would kill Iris if Mike didn’t carry out his orders.
Mike was confident that under the protection of federal agents, Iris would be safe and Milo wouldn’t be able to locate her. Sadly, this was proven wrong when Milo revealed he had planted a locator inside all his minions’ bodies and had already found Iris.
Mike rushed to his office and called the SWATS team on his way. As soon as Mike entered the office, he found the dead bodies of the federal agents. Iris was nowhere to be seen, but Milo left a warning to his nemesis.
Milo promised Mike that he would pluck every feather from Iris’s body, and thus to blackmail Mike, he kidnapped her. Now, to save Iris from Milo’s tyranny, Mike would be compelled to follow Milo’s order and carry out his nasty business.
We see Iris being taken to a house run by the local crime boss, Duke, where she is repeatedly abused. When she tries to leave, her attempts are firmly blocked, and soon she gives up trying to resist.
Meanwhile, Mike also seems to be looking for her and laments to Kyle about how he is being followed by the FBI officers ever since their fellow agent went missing from his office. However, he nevertheless decides to go and retrieve the package, as ordered by Milo.
What is Mike Looking For?
Things at the prison continue to escalate and the prisoners begin to go on hunger strikes. The guards, led by Ed, push to crack down even harder but are overruled by their superiors.
A meeting between the various gang leaders and the prison warden takes place, in which one of the criminals, Bunny’s accomplice, reveals a dangerous secret. Ed was furious but maintains a straight face.
Eventually, the warden agrees to lift the lockdown in return for peace, even though he doesn’t get a clear guarantee from gang leaders.
In the final scene of the episode, a dead body is discovered in a garbage truck, which turns out to be the missing FBI agent. Mike then goes out to Milo’s spot in the wilderness and begins to dig according to the criminal’s instructions, looking for a metallic case.
Mike ultimately realizes that he has no choice but to follow Milo’s orders and digs up the mysterious metallic container. The incarcerated criminal has so far given no details as to what the case might contain. This is one of the prime reasons why Mike was reluctant to dig up.
The McLusky brother also feared that Milo might lead him to the missing FBI agent’s corpse, which would open a new can of worms since Mike is being tracked by the FBI. Thus, Milo could very well try and frame Mike by connecting him to the dead body of the federal agent.
However, Mike still decides to go looking for Milo’s mysterious buried object which we well know turned out to be a metal trunk filled with 25 corpses.
What the future holds for Mike?
Season 2 of “Mayor of Kingstown” has been fast-paced since its inception. Milo, who escaped from the prison and survived the riot might again blackmail Mike to do more things now that Iris has returned to him for whatever reasons.
The upcoming episodes promise a thrilling ride and a potential Milo-Mike face-off.
