The Boys Season 3 is just getting better with each episode, and the twists and turns have left us completely dumbfounded. Episode 4 had numerous such moments which made our jaw drop and put a lid on all the theories we’ve been speculating.
One such moment was Congresswoman Victoria Neuman aka Nadia betraying Stan Edgar, whom she considered a father figure. In a press conference, she tells how Homelander has come forward with accusations of perjury, obstruction of justice, and blackmail against Stan Edgar.
But why exactly did she do it? Why did she choose to take Homelander’s side and betray Stan Edgar? Did she get anything in return?
Victoria Neuman/Nadia betrayed Stan Edgar to protect her daughter Zoe from Homelander. She also received her Red River institution files from where Stan adopted her and a vial of Compound V to turn her daughter into a supe.
Before Stan Edgar was taken away by law officials, he asked Victoria why she did it. Her answer was brief but hard-hitting. She said that all these years, it was she who protected Stan Edgar and not the other way round. Now, she had to protect her daughter, Zoe.
Although she didn’t mention who she was protecting Zoe from, it can be assumed that it was Homelander. He would’ve threatened her that her files from the Red River would be leaked, and the world would know she’s just like one of those supes.
This would end everything she had been working towards all these years under Stan Edgar’s guidance. The latter’s motives seem simple. He wants Vought to be a defense contractor and not a superhero company. But with this move, it would become difficult, to say the least.
Homelander has already announced that the company belongs to superheroes and not him. He even visits Vicky/Nadia and tells her how glad he is that she chose her kind over some human.
He even gives her the Red River files to prove that Stan was just using her and didn’t consider her his daughter. Besides all this, he hands her a vial of Compound V, which she injects into her daughter Zoe, turning her into a supe, too.
This flips the entire plot, and everything hangs in the balance. We don’t know if Victoria would continue the same thing she’s been doing for so long, or if she would start openly supporting the supes.
On the other hand, if we look at Stan Edgar, we don’t know if he’s returning to Vought. As Homelander mentioned in the episode, he’s been temporarily suspended from his position, which might become permanent soon. The man in the suit and tie says that Homelander would soon regret it because there’ll be no one else to cover for his true identity.
