Who is Tim Kono? Why was he killed? Only Murders In The Building formerly sponsored by Dimas Deli, has finally found that it involves a neurotically jealous lover.
In Episode 9, we are left with the worrying hunch that Jan is truly the killer.
For Charles, this is a challenging situation to digest. We see him invite Jan over, declaring that he loves her. But Charles has both us and Jan fooled. He reveals that he isn’t drinking from the “poisoned” glass and that he knows Jan is the killer, causing her to confess.
It’s a very passionate one at that — the unremorseful Jan narrates how she and Tim Kono were lovers. When he broke up with her with no explanation, she could only think of one reason: he is romantically involved with someone else. Of course, she just had to find the emerald ring that deepened her convictions.
Jan calls Tim for one last drink, spikes it and allows him to leave with the garbage bag where she had planted the fake suicide notes. By the time Tim is in his apartment and the poison starts kicking, Jan sounds fire alarms, goes over to Tim’s apartment and stages a suicide using a gun.
Back in real-time, Charles realizes that Jan has poisoned him too, not via the drink but the ice pack she was earlier using to nurse his nosebleed. Talk about the killer changing their MO.
If you think Jan is being smart… she also decides to poison the whole building by releasing toxic gases via the fireplace system. That is downright scary.
But this is not yet another long-winded tactic to allow the killer to get away and have it continued in Season 2. Mabel and Oliver manage to shut down the main valves of the building’s furnace. When confronted by the wrong end of Jan’s gun, Oliver pushes her, with a final blow delivered by Mabel. This is for Tim Kono, they end it.
It is happy endings all over: Jan gets arrested thanks to Charles sneakily recording her confession. The podcast trio get their apartments back. We finally get an answer to the pressing question, who is Tim Kono? As it turns out, we all are.
Mid-champagne toast, Arconia’s alarms blare up. Charles and Oliver run to find Mabel to get her out of the supposedly burning building.
Lo and behold, they find her in her apartment, covered in blood hunched over a dead tie-dye guy. It is the same scene from Episode1. Only this time, we have a reveal: Bunny has been murdered.
Charles, Mabel and Oliver go from solving a murder-mystery to being prime suspects in a fresh killing. Someone has a personal vendetta against them and I am all about exploring it in Season 2.

Only Murders in the Building is an American crime-comedy television series created by Steve Martin and John Hoffman. Season 1 of the series premiered in August 2021, and season 2 was released on 28th June 2022.
The series follows Charles, Oliver, and Mabel, a trio of true-crime-obsessed strangers and wannabe investigators who are brought together when they are framed for a murder that takes place in their building.
The series stars Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez as the main cast. The Hulu original has been renewed for Season 3.
