Kim Dokja doesn’t choose a sponsor in Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint. During both Sponsor Selection rounds, he rejects the offer made by several constellations. Since the beginning, his goal was to gather fables under his name and become a constellation sponsor himself.

1. What happens during Sponsor Selection?

A. Sponsor Selection Round 1

After completing the first scenario, the first Sponsor’s selection round was up in chapter 7 of the web novel.

Here Dokja could have chosen the following as his sponsors:

1. Abyssal Black Flame Dragon,
2. Demon-like Judge of Fire,
3. Secretive Plotter,
4. Prisoner of the Golden Headband.

However, he didn’t choose any sponsor as he believed that he would be constrained by them and chose the lone sponsor less path to become stronger as an incarnation.

Like for example the Demon-like Judge of Fire was a powerful sponsor but he was known to restrain his incarnations.

Kim Dokja finally achieves his goal of becoming a constellation by completing 5 legendary stories of his own and creating a nebula in the Constellation Banquet Arc which spans from chapters 146-150 of the web novel.

It all weaves in perfectly so to become a sponsor one should not have a sponsor, this is why Kim Dokja had been denying choosing any sponsors from the beginning.

2. Does he sponsor someone?

Kim Dokja had two Incarnations as a constellation whom he sponsored in the Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint manhwa. He first sponsored Shin Yoosung, a child he found during the Fifth Scenario. And his second Incarnation remained a mystery until the end of the story.

Kim Dokja had sponsored (younger) Shin Yoosung who was supposed to be the fifth disaster, in this way he had saved her and made her his Incarnation.

3. Does he become the Absolute Ruler?

Kim Dokja does not become the Absolute Ruler and avoids the throne as it’s like a sponsorship contract with an outer god (linked to the throne) with a hefty price and it wouldn’t let him reach the ending of the story he wanted.

Dokja wanted to become a constellation with his power alone, without relying on any constellation or outer gods, so he avoided the throne as it was a double-edged sword.

4. About Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint

Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint is a Korean metafictional apocalyptic fantasy webnovel penned by the author-duo Sing Shong. It was adapted into a webtoon by the same name in February 2020, one day after the end of the webnovel.

It follows the story of Kim Dokja, an ordinary salaried contractor, who one day, finds himself stuck in the world of his favorite fantasy novel. The webnovel is called Three Ways to Survive in a Ruined World, written by an anonymous author who goes by the name of tls123. Dokja was the sole reader who finished this novel to the end.

When the novel suddenly becomes reality, Dokja is the only person who has unique knowledge of this apocalyptic new world. He knows how the plot of the story ends and therefore has the best chance of survival.
