Apple TV+” is a sports comedy series that follows the titular character as he explores the world of soccer and coaches the AFC Richmond players. Meanwhile, Ted also recovers from his divorce from his wife, Michelle, which shapes several of his life choices. Ted ventures into the Premier League in the third season. As a result, his romantic life has taken a back seat.
Nonetheless, the return of Flo “Sassy” Collins will spark the conversation of her and Ted finally making things official and starting a romance. Or will the fans finally see a Tedbecca endgame? Ted might be getting back with his wife Michelle too. You never know.
Ted and Michelle getting back together in Ted Lasso season 3 could be a way for the show to give its main character his happiest ending. After what should be a successful season at AFC Richmond and proving that he can coach the sport, Ted might no longer feel that he has a purpose there.
This was already weighing on him during the premiere, but now he and Michelle may have similar feelings after the long break and time apart.
Let’s get into more details and learn more about Ted’s romantic life.
Will Ted and Sassy End Up Together in Ted Lasso?
The American college football coach Ted Lasso finds himself out-of-depth coaching soccer on the other side of the pond. However, Ted’s undying optimism and ability to believe in others and make them believe in themselves help him quickly win over naysayers.
Ted struggles to separate from his wife, who initially wants space from him. Ted is heading for a divorce in the first season when he meets Flo “Sassy” Collins.
Initially, Sassy is a charming patron Ted meets in the hotel lobby in Liverpool.
However, Sassy is revealed to be the best friend of Ted’s boss, Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham). Sassy is a divorced single mother to a teenage daughter, Nora. After meeting Ted, Sassy becomes attracted to him, and the duo develops fantastic chemistry.
Ted calls Sassy “Sassy Smurf” due to her penchant for zingers, while Sassy dubs Ted “Marlboro Man.” Eventually, the mutual attraction between Ted and Sassy culminates in spending a night together in Ted’s hotel room.
But it’s not exactly what you think. The encounter does not result in a romantic relationship. Nonetheless, since their initial hookup, Ted and Sassy have not discussed a potential relationship in their meetings.
However, Ted and Sassy continue to have the same chemistry, leaving the door open for a relationship. In the third episode of season 3, Sassy confirms that she has a romantic interest in Ted.
On the other hand, Ted’s mental health is fragile because of his divorce. And the distance from his son, Henry. Hence, he might not be eager to start a romantic relationship yet.
Moreover, it would be meaningful for Ted to overcome the negative emotions from his divorce without relying on a substitute relationship. One of the critical factors in Ted and Sassy ending up together could be Ted’s desire to stay with his son.
We know Ted wants to spend as much time as possible with Henry. If Ted achieves the goal of winning the Premier League with AFC Richmond, he could return to the United States. Thus, any potential romance with Sassy could be jeopardized. Romance isn’t on the cards for everyone’s favorite coach.
The Rebecca Prophecy Continues: Is Tedbecca the endgame?
Ted Lasso Season 3 is leaning hard into the world of magical realism. Rebecca decides to see her old fertility specialist. She hopes to conceive a child, but it may be for naught.
Rebecca gets a phone call before the end of the episode, and it seems that either she can have a child or, more likely, she’s been told she can’t. And it’s time, like with Ted earing up the “BELIEVE” sign, to move forward from the past.
While the show seems to keep pointing towards Sam and Rebecca reuniting, hence the importance of the matchbook, many Ted Lasso fans believe Ted and Rebecca are endgames. To them, Tish’s reading is full of secret hints that their preferred ‘ship is about to enter.
Maybe the most significant reason Tedbecca fans should be rejoicing is that we’ve gotten another bizarre, emotionally-unhinged interaction between Ted and Rebecca in a hallway.
We see Rebecca confiding in Higgins about the psychic. He advises that even if psychics are charlatans, “they can help us see something in ourselves that we can’t quite see ourselves.”
We cut to a brief scene with Nate and then watch as Rebecca and Ted awkwardly pass each other in the halls of Richmond. Rebecca calls Ted “Coach,” He calls her and “Rebecca.” It’s weird because she usually calls him “Ted,” and his nickname for her is “Boss.”
She apologizes for bullying Ted. They both seem unsettled by the energy between them and quickly end the conversation. Both walk away as if something odd has happened.
There could also be an argument that one of the shots of Rebecca holding the matchbook is blocked so that Ted’s biscuit box is actually in the center of the frame. She’s focused on the green matchbook at the risk of missing out on what’s right in front of her…Ted.
We’ll have to see what a team trip to Amsterdam means for this particular plot line in next week’s all-new episode of Ted Lasso, “Sunflowers.”
Will Ted Lasso get back together with his wife?
Ted Lasso season 3, episode 4 ending teases how Ted’s story will end, as Michelle’s smile could mean he and his wife will get back together.
Ted Lasso’s season 3 might be setting up Ted getting back together with his wife Michelle, as her smile in episode 4 could be a massive clue to their future.
Ted’s relationship with his wife has been a big part of Jason Sudeikis’ character. His moving to England to coach AFC Richmond created even more distance between them.
Ted eventually signed divorce papers, allowing them both to move on. The show has appeared to be on a track to keep them separate, with Michelle dating Dr. Jacob and Ted’s open romantic life. However, Ted Lasso’s season 3 used episode 4’s ending to tease a different future.
Michelle’s smile after Ted tells her how he feels a big tease that Ted Lasso Season 3 will end with them back together. She could have gotten upset or fought back after Ted expressed his feelings about her current relationship, as they are no longer together.
She has the freedom to be with whomever she wants. Michelle listened carefully to everything that Ted said, and after saying goodbye, she repeatedly smiled as she reflected on her ex-husband’s words.
The key to this scene and the possibility that Ted and Michelle get back together is that he finally tells his wife how he feels. Ted tends to hold in his true feelings, especially if they are more damaging and potentially critical.
It is possible that when Ted told Michelle how he felt, he said exactly what she needed to hear from him. This would mean that Michelle could begin to rethink the long-term nature of their relationship, possibly realizing that she wants Ted to come home so he, her, and Henry can be a family again.
As a result, Ted Lasso’s season 3 could end with Ted and Michelle back together to try and reunite the family.
